Hacking Chinese (Tencent) Switch stuck on FW 19.0.1

Hi Folks,

I own a Chinese Switch OLED with the Ul patched to English. Unfortunately i could not find any Firmware release higher than 19.0.1 for the Chinese model and currently cannot play games that require a higher FW.

1. Does anybody know a source for a 20.x FW for the Chinese model?
2. Is there a way to patch games to run on lower
   Firmware?
3. Would it be possible to flash the Global Firmware onto the Chinese EMUnand without risking a brick?

I guess Chinese models are more stable and don't need "general system stability improvements".
It might just take a bit long for it to be released.

2. Is there a way to patch games to run on lower Firmware?

Sometimes games run fine on lower firmware versions.
The installers like DBI / GoldLeaf don't even check it afaik.

3. Would it be possible to flash the Global Firmware onto the Chinese EMUnand without risking a brick?

There are some manuals here on the forum about using a donor image to rebuild an emmc from scratch.

It will never be a Switch which can go online or use the eShop from the OFW.
Also do make a full NAND backup before you try anything.
That way you can always go back.
Note that installing FW20 and entering OFW once will burn fuses so that you can't go back to FW19 for the OFW.
