softmodding is easier and better i guess, people like copying files to their sd cards and let the magic work by pressing a buttonI still wonder why he decided to release this now that people can still use a hardmod to downgrade

Both and I like the risk of I'm about to kill my 3dsLot's of people can't be bothered to hardmod.
Either because they have no soldering experience or they are too broke to pay someone else to hardmod it for them.

That euphoria though! Both and I like the risk of I'm about to kill my 3ds
To have a decent effect this should have been kept private some more, if the workaround for the hack is really just that 32c3 race attack, it won't take long for Nintendo to patch itLot's of people can't be bothered to hardmod.

I don't know, and MyNintendo is releasing soon.I still wonder why he decided to release this now that people can still use a hardmod to downgrade
(btw, this thread is "how to waste a kernel11 exploit 101: before the MyNintendo release edition")

They should have waited until ≥10.3 systems become rare. Any 3DS currently sold comes with at most 10.3.To have a decent effect this should have been kept private some more, if the workaround for the hack is really just that 32c3 race attack, it won't take long for Nintendo to patch it
Yeah. So, it's really a wasted exploit. To have a decent effect this should have been kept private some more, if the workaround for the hack is really just that 32c3 race attack, it won't take long for Nintendo to patch it
And seriously, hardmodding isn't a big issue at all. They should have waited until ≥10.3 systems become rare. Any 3DS currently sold comes with at most 10.3.
This is reminding me of in the apple scene when ih8sn0w wasted a exploit on a jailbreak that would jailbreak outdated software by Apple.Yeah. So, it's really a wasted exploit.

It's not like they are hard to contact, tbh...Cut the guy some slack will you, he was proud of his work and shared it, or he needed to be tested, and probably don't have contact with some of the devs.

Oh I know that, hard modding isn't that difficult. Successfully did it on my 2DS.Yeah. So, it's really a wasted exploit.

How does that work? If 10.6 can flash 10.2 native_firm, what's stopping 10.8 etc from flashing the 10.6 native_firm?I think that there is something that people aren't understanding right now:
this will save you from hardmodding for 10.6 and lower, but the next update won't have any Kernel11 exploit, and downgrade by hardmodding will be fixed.
Enjoy.
Something will come up. There is (and won't be) any perfect system. And even, maybe not the next update.I think that there is something that people aren't understanding right now:
