Is that possible? I want to port F/SN HF to my 3DS. If it's possible to port VNs, then is it also possible to port saves too? I'm on day 11 of HF

It's not just a simple conversion of the VN. You would have to rebuild the visual novel from the ground up. And even if you have the programming knowledge to do just that, you would have to contact the original developer for permission to port their work onto the 3ds. I imagine you haven't thought about any of the logistics a project like this would entail. So your best hope is to just wait

A lot of visual novels will be from the group up new programming endeavours. There is a visual novel standard with a lot things to it.

Technically you don't have to get source code or permission and there are plenty of games that are remade from compiled code, all without a nod from the rights owners or a glance at the source. It is usually a very long and hard to do project though, and if some of the VN hacking I have been involved in is anything to go by they are not often programmed the best.
Equally if you don't have permission then distribution can be harder, especially if you are including art, sound and maybe even script ripped or copied from the original game.

I have never heard of a single porting project in which the one porting the game (or visual novel in this case) didn't have to get permission from the original creator. Failing to do this usually results in a C&D, but it depends on the dev. But you will get reprimanded in some form or another.

Oh yeah it is not a terribly wise plan and may well result in legal fun and games depending upon what you do. However there are plenty of source recreations that have little more than maybe an unofficial nod.

Equally if the code is sorted and the original game fed to it as an archive then you have a kind of emulation, or indeed whatever scummvm can be said to do these days. Wikipedia I know but it is a nice list in this case
