The ban doesn't take affect until you reboot the console, which is why it didn't happen until you installed B9S.

I also said that this probably wasn't the only culprit, but does seem to be one of the most logical ones.
lol i said i tested it and i know i wasn't banned until i installed b9s

Lol we don't have any clue how cfw/modifications is being detected because menuhax and a9lh installers have been banned as well. My 3 other 3ds' had b9s since the day Derrek released his implementation of it and they werent banned but 1 of my b9s 3ds got banned the second i installed it and my 9.2 ofw 3ds running menu hax for QR injection of pokemon got banned as well. So do not tell me what you 'Think' you know when it's really nothing you know.

My best guess is if the game/software ask for to send data to nintendo for help further improving. DO NOT SAY YES. Is only a guess, people who have ignored those things and said yes, maybe is a cause. But is just my guess, not saying is true. Usually system software does not send data without first requesting permission, i guess kinda like when you install apps on a smartphone. I haven't been banned yet, then again, i hardly use any online service besides Super mario maker 100 level challenge and peeking into eshop for any updates on games they sell, while using a system that my Nintendo network id isn't connected to, and any of that time, my wifi is either off or on in sleep mode. So I dunno. Just don't say yes to any thing like sending data or extra data or street pass or whatever.:ninja:

Uh, yes, we do know how shit gets detected. We know exactly what data is sent, how it's sent, and where it's sent. It's called Wireshark and Fiddler. What exactly is triggering the bans, though, has yet to be completely determined. We know for a fact that it's not custom firmware itself, and you even proved this point with your own post. It's obvious that B9S/A9LH/Menuhax and custom firmware paylpads aren't the culprits. Most likely that QR injection is what got you banned. Use some fucking common sense. I also think that it's hilariously ironic that a supposed custom firmware "developer" doesn't even know the inner workings of a 3DS enough to know what network operations it performs or what data is even sent to Nintendo.

Last edited by Joom,
Could you make a new poll but with specific options, letting us know if the voter was a receiver or a sender? In this form there isn't enough information being gathered.
