Wii certainly had trouble getting third party software later in its life.Nor did it happen with the Vita, which also struggled way before any hacks surfaced that haven't been achieved on the PSP before and didn't affect Vita games at all. I guess you can't just link sales to piracy. If there are not enough interesting games to pirate, it wouldn't matter if the console is shut tight or hacked wide open.
But to support the point that piracy does at least not kill off consoles, I want to point to the PSP, the DS, the Wii and the 3DS. All did well after piracy being easy to achieve.
Also the Dreamcast was a compromised from the get-go, piracy was rampant, and Sega dropped out of the console market altogether.
