PokéWalker

I had an old PokéWalker a friend gifted me, used, years ago. But I didn't have any way to use it (No 3DS nor DS). I just got a second hand Nintendo 2DS XL. I successfully installed twilightmenu and started playing heart gold. I read in a thread I need an actual IR DS cartridge and I could link with the PokéWalker from the rom.

Are the DS Pokémon game cards the only ones that work for this? Are there any other compatible IR cards?

I actually don't like Pokémon that much. But I really want to get a Pikachu into the PokéWalker.

The Pokéwalker connects only with an original game cartridge because inside of it there is an IR receiver
