ROM Hack Pokewalker emulators (using 3DS IR port?)

I've been looking all over for even a simple emulator for the Pokewalker as I've lost mine, but can't find one.
Then I thought, if there was one, would it be able to run on a 3DS and use the IR reciever to connect? And the Pedometer for steps?

So does anyone know if such a thing does or could exist? I've no idea on the technical side but it'd be interesting to see more knowledgeable people speculate.
And regardless, do Pokewalker emulators even exist in the first place?

They used the IR port on the game cart.
I doubt it's even possible to redirect IR commands to the IR port on the 3DS in NDS mode.

Oh sorry I meant on a separate 3DS.
So one would be running Pokemon and the other would run the Pokewalker emulator

I doubt it'll happen.
Seeing you can just simply cheat in steps with save editing tools.

But afaik, there isn't such a thing yet.

last time i asked for something else related to the IR (tv remote). i got something like this :
there is no driver\controller for the IR port on the 3ds, the software can't acceess it blabla etc
