Ahh, THIS topic.
Owner of Red, Blue, Yellow, and Silver. Played through some of...erm..Sapphire and possibly Emerald. Beat Pearl.
I absolutely LOVED the "post-game" stuff in G/S/C. That was mindblowing back then. Holy shit, this all looks familiar. And back then I didn't have the net or the like so I didn't see it coming. To walk back to..uh...the first town you get to and then you make the link. You check the map. You squee.

Wake up.
Fall out of bed.
Drag a comb across your head.
Get first Pokemon.
Get more Pokemons.
Fight Gym Leader, get badge.
Get more Pokeymans.
Fight evil organization.
Again.

FUCKING ABRA STOP TELEPORTING
Oh yeah, don't forget to save the world now. Twice.
Oh look, there's your rival for the 18th time. Go away.

Beat the final Gym Leader.
Fight a billion Trainers and Gravelers on your way to the Elite Four.
Fight the Elite Four.
Oh snap! The head of the evil organiz--nah, that's too generic. Your rival is the champ, go beat him up again.
Roll credits.
That's exaggerated, but generally how it goes in all of the core games. Yuck.
