I played Gold than skipped to Diamond so I haven't got much experience with all these games. I like Diamond a lot better though.

You did not just say that. Silver/Gold were the best Pokemon games out of the whole series. I can not wait for the remake, I need a reason to play it again.

I think Pokemon should take a more darker, mature theme... Or just make you the bad guy, so you can conquer the world or something lol [If they do this, I deserve royalties!]
Well the two GameCube games have you stealing Pokemon. Granted they're evil corrupted versions from bad guys, but you're still stealing them.

Ahh, THIS topic.

Owner of Red, Blue, Yellow, and Silver. Played through some of...erm..Sapphire and possibly Emerald. Beat Pearl.

I absolutely LOVED the "post-game" stuff in G/S/C. That was mindblowing back then. Holy shit, this all looks familiar. And back then I didn't have the net or the like so I didn't see it coming. To walk back to..uh...the first town you get to and then you make the link. You check the map. You squee.

R/S/E, well...I dunno, something was off with that for me. =\

D/P...hah. I forced myself to beat it. And it didn't help because the Elite Four decided to destroy my team a few times, so it was heartrending. I found out that Leech Seed and just turtling can save the day, until they throw out a Full Restore. Bah.

Yet oddly enough, I've liked the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games. It's different than the dated and boring battle system, and apart from the turn-based system, it's exactly how I would imagine a full 3D Pokemon adventure would be (you know, ignoring the fact that it is 2D and all *cough*). What I mean is, take away the battle swish and you have something like PMD. And, there's no

Wake up.
Fall out of bed.
Drag a comb across your head.
Get first Pokemon.
Get more Pokemons.
Fight Gym Leader, get badge.
Get more Pokeymans.
Fight evil organization.
Again.
A few more gym leaders.
Spend lots of money at the Game Corner!
FUCKING ABRA STOP TELEPORTING
Oh yeah, don't forget to save the world now. Twice.
Oh look, there's your rival for the 18th time. Go away.
...
Beat the final Gym Leader.
Fight a billion Trainers and Gravelers on your way to the Elite Four.
Fight the Elite Four.
Oh snap! The head of the evil organiz--nah, that's too generic. Your rival is the champ, go beat him up again.
Roll credits.

That's exaggerated, but generally how it goes in all of the core games. Yuck.

How is that exaggerated? Thats exactly what happens in every Pokemon game, except FUCKING ABRA STOP TELEPORTING comes much earlier before Fight evil organization.

The original 151 pokemon were very original and balanced but seriously what the hell are some of these new ones supposed to be? The new ones (especially some of the Ruby/Saphire ones) were so overpowered.

EDIT: WTF? Why did i post the same thing twice?

The only real reason the DP series sells so much on the DS is because of wifi. That alone puts pokemon over the top even if the story is shit. Seriously, it has one of the best wifi experiences possible. Forget the actual game. But yes, I completely agree, they rushed the designs and made crappy pokemon this generation but the idea of pokemon itself is brilliant and its creator should be praised even if the games are now of less quality and sell more to little kids. Pokemon is still an amazing concept but I agree, DP could have been much more than it was right now. The only thing that is saving it and making it work is wifi. All the games in general though from RBY to pokemon stadium/snap on N64 to DP on DS, I love pokemon. Easily my favorite series on all consoles to date. It's a shame how the anime is so gay now. After Johto it really started getting shitty and not even worth to see on the front page of serebii. That's how bad it is now.

That's my two cents on pokemon.

Cya.

I must admit I think Platinum looks pretty good.
I expected it just to be the new Giratina, but upgraded Wi-Fi stuff and Battle Frontier do look quite cool.
I'll probably give the game a try.

If it has battling without exchanging of friend codes, then I'll try it.
(Psst don't tell anyone but I give away tons of hax!)

I loved the Missingno glitch in Red and Blue... had enough Rare Candies and money to last a lifetime. Even "trained" six Dratinis from the Game Corner to Lv100 Dragonites. No EVs though.

Personaly I believe that gamefreak should stop creating new pokemon genenerations...........I think the could produce new games with the same pokemon but with diferent storyline.........

Completely agreed. The new pokemon are pretty much just to get little kids excited and buy the game. I however completely agree with you.

That's true, but I don't mind new Pokemon every once in a while. It does make things more interesting. Though most of the last two generations are quite a stretch from the first two, but it's understandable since Sugimori stopped making 99% of them himself.

Anyway, the games looks fun, but I already paid for diamond, so I wouldn't pay for platinum, good thing for flashcarts.

My 2 brothers bought D/P, so I'll get Platinum. One of my brothers plans on Downloading Platinum, seeing as he understands enough to play it to the end regardless of what changes they've made from D/P. Oh and am i the only one who likes Torn World? I think it looks interesting, and it's the first handheld pokemon game to have an "almost" 3D area.
Anyway, Silver was my favourite.

gold/silver is probably still the best.
plus, after winning the elite 4, there was almost another half of the game to explore.
something the newer games are lacking... (i hated the heatran mini saga crap)
thats why we need a gold/silver remake.
so we get gold/silver with all the great features of d/p!

Well, we won't know how good it is until we actually get it running on our DSes.

It's an upgraded version of D/P with some extras, not like it's a brand new game......as i've said before most likly it just offer more legends kinda like emerald did for R/S......

Quick question, I know you can battle people normally in Wi-Fi in Diamond/Pearl can you be there partner in Battle Frontier (if there is one, not sure) I think in the Battle Tower (not sure)?
