Hey guys, this is now my third post :(...
does anyone know why i get Blackscreen when i start Pokemon Moon (from E-Shop and Freeshop).. and than i cant get back to mainmenu.. its just Black and looks like freezed... i have read that i have to import seed, but FBI has no import seed function, just import secure tdata and there comes a import error too...

Thanks for any reply!

Could we get more information about your setup? For example, are you using this extended-memory game on an Old 3DS using an outdated CFW with reboot patches that can't run extended-memory games?

i have the newest luma, o3ds with emunand 11.2.0-35E. I installed the version from this site download and eshop now.. all blackscreen... why???

A9LH or Menuhax?
If A9LH, is the am9loaderhax.bin at the root of the SD card the one from Luma or a boot manager?
If it's not Luma, did you enable custom path and specified the path in /luma/path.txt?

What is your CFW and Firmware? Are you running anything other than A9LH and Luma?

So its 11.2.0-35E , i use A9LH and Luma..... so i read somewhere that custom path would help but i dont wanna destroy all my settings cause of a tiny change, if its possible.
Edit+: the a9lh.bin is in the root directory

I have a similar problem on an O3DS, running Luma3DS (via A9LH), sysNAND 11.2. The game will stays at a black screen after the 3DS logo animation.
After enabling "error display" on Luma, this screen shows up:

I read that failure to boot extended RAM games on O3DS may be caused by a franken-firmware. Currently I'm doing a CTRNAND dump from my "good" O3DS (one that boots Pokémon Moon just fine) and will flash it to the "bad" O3DS, will report back with results.

UPDATE:
The CTRNAND transfer failed and resulted in a soft-brick. The console seems to stay at a black screen on boot. Good job I have a full NAND backup, restoring the full NAND backup revives the console, but the black screen issue remains. Will report back if I find any solution.

i am in the same situation.
The only diference is that mi pokemon SUN is not digital. Is a cartrige.

ouh its fixed.. its working the Luma updater didnt put the file or replace the 3dsx file inside my menuhax.. i replaced it manually now it works..

I also can't launch Pokemon Moon. Just get a black screen and have to hard reset.

I'm on an o3DS, Luma 6.65.5, emuNAND is 11.2U, and I'm lazily using Menuhax. Moon was downloaded via Freeshop, and then later via QR code in FBI. Both times I got the same result.

I'm currently downloading Sun (via FreeShop) to try it out. I manually updated the Luma files like 3DSJunkie says and that did not change the outcome.

Last edited by thaddius, , Reason: Corrected the version I was on. This was my issue.
are you sure? that you updated it right... at bootup of luma press select.. and tell me which version there is on the top of the configuration.... should be 6.6 (working)

ok then turn ErrorDisplay on and start the game,.. so that we can see directly the error :)... one was post here...

Nevermind.

I had previously updated the files to 6.6 but apparently not all of them. When you asked about checking the version I was still downloading Sun via Freeshop so I just told you the version of the files I downloaded. I was still on 5.5. It's been a while since I've used this 3DS.

After putting all the files in (and verifying with the boot menu that I'm actually on v6.6) they work fine. Thanks for your help.

The problem is play in emunand.

If you Installed arm9lh with luma pokemon sun works again.
