It's possible and someone has already done it. However the files have not been shared yet so if you'd rather not wait you will need to edit the bntx files yourself

That's normal according to a few people who have already made texture mods. According to them unfortunately it's mostly trial and error ATM until you either get the hang of it (working blind) or someone makes something like ohana3ds
