So does either fix the random crashes? Anyone?

If (the Rudolph one) is anything like the small patch we got for the Japense versions, all it does is reduce the chance of random crashes happening.

I can't get Rudolph's patch to run. Whether I drag the Rom onto it or try to run it, t gives me an error message "Cannot find original Pokemon HG or SS file" or something like that. I don't know how I managed to screw something this simple up, but I did. How do I get it to work.

For everyone having this problem:

It's looking for a specifically named file (that is, the .nds file needs to have a very specific name). If you read the entire command prompt you'll see what it has to be named. It's just like how it worked with the Japanese versions of the games. I can't tell you what the names are because I haven't run the patches myself, but that's how you get it to work, anyway.
