If I trade a Shaymin from my R4 to a legit Pokémon Diamond cartridge is there a risk that my cartridge will get all retarded?

The Shaymin I'm going to trade is the one you catch after giving the letter to Oak.

Cartridges can't get retarded, they're ROM. If you're so worried, back up your save from your original cart beforehand.

How do you back up a legit cartridge save?

To back up your save, use savsender. Google it, and there's a tutorial.

But it won't affect your cartridge at all. And it will work online.

Shaymin can't legitimately be obtained outside of Japan. There's a chance they could detect the hacked Shaymin and ban you from the Wi-Fi network.

So, if she only have it and does not use it in battles over WiFi will she be banned?

nintendo doesnt monitor the wifi its just a rumor cause noobs cant get their router / wifi to work

There's absolutely no risk, and your save game can't be messed up either, it's just like trading any other pokemon.

Its natural to be worried about these things but don't. Nothing will go wrong.

If you want to be really sure, just release it from the box after you get the Pokedex info. But there shouldn't be any problem with trading a 'normal' Pokemon to a legit cart. I traded several Pokesav'd Pokes to my legit cart and they all worked fine.

I'm new to all of this Pokesav stuff, so forgive me if this has been answered a hundred times already.

Going from this thread, is the "safest" way to use hacked Pokemon by using Pokesav and a flashcart to trade to a legit Diamond or Pearl cartridge via local wi-fi (i.e. not using Nintendo WFC)? Would that eliminate any possible trace of the cheating being detected were you to use it online or something?
