So, where do you find ho-oh, lugia etc?  Are the locations random?  And what about previous gen starters?

The locations are fixed, take a look in the 493.txt file included in the archive, it give the locations.

Edit just tried it here an it's working fine on my EZ Flash IV. I made a copy of the pokemon diamond.nds from my EZ4 minisd, had the .exe patch it, then copied it back to the minisd. It loaded my existing save and I found a Victreebell on route 210 which is where the 493.txt file says you find them. Shoud be fun.

OK been shopping so now I can take a look, it seems the following files have been altered: data/fielddata/encountdata/d_enc_data.narc
data/fielddata/encountdata/p_enc_data.narc

No, it's not. As long as you don't rare candy it to 100 (you could probably rare candy to 99 and still be fine, if you EV train properly), a Pokemon caught at level 99 won't be weaker than a Pokemon caught at 1. The IVs and EVs don't change if you catch it at a different level, and if you wanted 999 stats/max EVs/max IVs you could edit it in Pokesav anyway. The only thing it does it make it looked hacked (which it is).

Thanks for that gab10, my abilty to translate techinical terms from Chinese is not great (a shame as a lot of nice stuff is on Chinese sites and forums).
Betwee this and some other stuff it may even be possible to do a hard mode hack.

er.... you could do 999 STATs on Pokesav? i'm not aware of that... heh...

anyways, for the pokemon caught at 99, you must get 510 EV points.... if you dont then they wont be as "strong"

and if you do hack in the EV points, deposit it in the box and then withdraw to see the changes...


- and you can make a "hacked" pokemon as legit as possible.. simply get an egged hatched poke, save it, load it up in another slot, and then play around...

Nice, thanks OP. There is a similar patch for Pokemon Sapphire that lets you catch all 386 in that version, I don't see why this wouldn't be legit. Looking forward to trying it out. It's much better than using a save editor and increases replayability as you can now catch different pokemon to as you play through the story mode.

I don't think it does, it actually adds to then fun imo. It's like a mod for a PC game that changes the monster data in a RPG to give you a new experience.

Oh alright, I guess I misunderstood what this actually did. Since I'm not a Pokemon player I thought it just put the pokemon in easy to find places. I have the games on my MK5, maybe one day I'll load them up.

Heh, this is fun, but too bad the Pokemon aren't "Legit" so you can trade them cause of there caught locations. But otherwise, nice release. Haven't see anything like it before.

i really dont see the point anyway because it doesnt matter what version it is you can get every single pokemon. Also if your looking for a certain one the location of all the pokemon are in the txt file.

Cool, I played the edited sapphire version back in the days and no, it didn't kill the fun.
