Hacking Pokemon D/P GBA insertion

Pokemon Diamond and pearl has the feature where if you have a GBA game inserted it will unlock and allow certain pokemon to appear in the grass.

To do so with EZ flash V + 3 in 1 is it?

1) Pokemon D/P + (unpatched with EZ4 client) GBA game

So you cant play it using GBA mode but it can be written to the 3 in 1 regardless

or

2) Pokemon D/P + (patched with EZ4 client) GBA game

So you can select GBA mode and actually play the game\

For the GBA pokemon migration is it?

1) D/P + (unpatched with EZ4 client) GBA game + save file

or

2) D/P + (patched with EZ4 client) GBA game + save file

So the gba game can be played.

well if you have all the things, could you not just waste 5 mins and try it?

It would have been easier to do that then make this thread but not only am I not far enough but I lack the GBA games.

So I was asking for people who have done it to share their knowledge.

The patched one wont work. As for unpatched, I need a save file to test that.

Just thrown on unpatfched firered with no save file just it.

Walking around now..

No luck atm.

Edit: Patched Ruby with Valid playable gamesave = nothing yet..
