And since everyone is agreeing with it, and not going against it like people did with Microsoft's XBone policies, Gamefreak thinks everyone is okay with it, therefore they'll keep on introducing new features behind a pay wall until they've crossed the line. And if this isn't crossing the line to fans, I'm not sure what is.

I don't own Pokemon Black/White/1/2, so this is no issue for me, but I can't help but feel like I'd be a little let down after an announcement like this, yet everyone seems so fine with it.

All I'm saying is, it's a wrong path. It'll be a huge blow if they keep going down it like Microsoft.

Or maybe just because it's more convenient this way.

5$! You know, the kind of money you use to buy candy and chips. 5$ to maintain the servers in order to use it for future generation pokémon games. It's a cloud service that'll make them able not to do another "previous gen to future gen" tedious app.
How is THAT being greedy? It's not 5$ per day, not even a month. It's per year.

Well, Pokemon that are obviously hacked (Shiny Victini with Frenzy Plant and Wonder Guard, for example) won't transfer.
Pokemon that are better made will probably pass; even an illegal move will probably get through.

There will probably be some false positives, though; in Gen 4, a bunch of people got upset because their legitimate Shiny Jirachis were being rejected by the GTS hack checks.

You mean you all don't still own a DS? I didn't know those weren't still un-patchable by firmware updates, etc. They're great for the DS homebrew scene, unlike the 3DS where it could end any time (Considering the atmosphere of this forum, I assumed you would all have one still). It'd be a really useful feature to every kid who still has a DS, which is quite a few (I have a few cousins with like 5 DS's and one 3DS just because they don't keep track of their shit). And then the people without their previous DS could use the online feature.

And yeah, kyogre123 was right, you guys will go to earthend trying to defend these guys.

it would not, the 3ds can easily do that with an app wich can read\write info to the ds cart

Yes, true. Most of us do have a DS.
However Gamefreaks wants to plan ahead and make this a cloud service. it's something they always wanted to do since gen 3 if i recall correctly.

Defending a company and trying to make you show that it isn't a farfetch'd idea is 2 diffrent things.

He actually just came up with a much better solution to this problem, so I agree with him. That would be much more efficient.

people who get the game after January\February can't get the free trial anymore, what happens when nintendo decides they will shut down the service or just support it for new games? its like ea games policy, you buy a game, one year later they will shut down the servers and don't provide any support for that game...

i hope they make an app which can do the same thing like the pokebank

this pokemon bank thing is just an excuse to get money, even if its 5$ a year, don't forget you now have a SD card on your 3DS which you require to play the game, you could save pokemons to the card and you owned your own limitless pokebank... before the dsi\3ds you only could save data in the game cart itself, so now you have a sd card, some games use it for save files.

it's getting close to nintendo start selling pokemon dlc packs later, something like this: "shiny new dlc, get 5 new pokemons you wouldn't find in the game before for 5 euros, this pokemons have overpowered abilities so you will kick ass on wifi battles with your friends\online people"

That's exactly what it does. The fact that it's included with pkm bank is because it will allow to make gen 5 compatible with gen 6 AND future generations, without the need of rewriting a tedious app each main games it comes.
I think the problem is that, you would rather it to become free instead of costing a measily 5$ per year.

And poketransfer does exactly that. Check my earlier post to see why it's included with pokm bank instead of seperately. Although I agree that it should have been either a bundle or a seperate app.

if you try to tampering with the computer, the 3ds will reject the save, if i am correct the 3ds uses something like a md5 inside the console to make sure you don't edit the nintendo 3ds files in your pc... i readed this somewhere.. not sure if its correct
