Ok I'll try right now

Just tried it and I could connect to the Nintendo WFC but it would then tell me something like, "There was a problem with your Pokemon and they could not participate" and then boots me. Tried it without the PokeGen pokemon and connected with no problems.

EDIT: There has to be a way around this and hopefully it can be figured out soon.

Knew it
This time Nintendo put a better pokemon-check system
hopefully someone will find a way to use pokesav/pokegen pokemon on random matches

I could be wrong but I think one of the problems is that the pokemon is not in my pokedex. I have it checked off in PokeGen but because it's a National Dex pokemon it still shows ??? for its' dex number. I tried using a Pikachu btw.

Ok try this catch a random pokemon (legit catch) then DONT modify it and transfer it to Pokemon White or Black using PokeGen then try using it on Random Wi-Fi

Your way works and I got it to work with a shiny Charmander as well. However you have to set location met to Pokemon Transfer Lab in PokeGen and if it's an old pokemon make sure the date met is recent.

EDIT: When I say old I mean a pokemon from a previous game that has a date like 2/27/2010, like the shiny Charmander did.

Yeah change the date to a more recent date like 2/27/2011 or more preferably a date after the game was officially released such as today's date 3/8/2011
