If the Hoenn trainer music is in the game it's likely because of that place where you can rematch trainers all throughout the series, just like that video demonstrating the Misty rematch with the Kanto Gym Remix.

If we actually get to visit Hoenn that would be an enormous surprise, and this IS trainer music rather than gym or champion music, hmm.
Maybe it's reserved for Steven Stone who is not a champion with Wallace in place.

You know, I'm getting excited for this, and I don't know why. If we get to go back to Hoenn, holy hell, I'm definitely playing this. Sapphire is one of my favorite Pokemon games. Otherwise, I never even beat Black/White. I got bored after the fifth gym. If it's just more of the same, I'll ultimately get bored so quickly, I'll have to wonder why I bothered.

I'll admit that this beats the normal third game deal. Normally, we just get a modified story and some new post-game stuff along with little extras. They went the extra mile this time and loaded us down with an entirely new story without 150 more Pokemon, more of the region to explore, a redesign of what was already explored, and potentially even more. I'll give 'em props for that, at least.

Was it the sliced up Kanto, or full Kanto? I'll admit that I never bothered getting past the first gym when I booted up the remakes. Anyways, if it was sliced up Kanto like in the original G/S/C, that's not too surprising. When you butcher a region to under half the size, it becomes a lot easier to squash it into a game that already contains another.

Don't forget that Kanto was just a well organized loop, either. When you get down to it, Kanto is actually pretty damn small, especially when you cut out things like Mt. Moon and the Safari Zone, as well as the entirety of Cinnabar.

Pokemon Black and White was pretty challenging if you ask me. Unless you grind till death lol.

Previous pokemon games were always easy.. even without grinding.

Admittedly it didn't take much to beat Ghetsis.
His lead Cofagrigus lets you set up just about anyone you like with moves like Dragon Dance or Swords Dance, or even just X Stat boosting items.
