ROM Hack Pokemon B/W AP Discussion Thread

Has anyone figured out why some people using AK2i on AKAIO 1.8.5/a can't run the game? Doesn't work patched or unpatched. It just sits at loading and the game never starts... and before you ask, yes i have reformatted the card, tried multiple different roms, some pre patched, and others i patched myself.

It does however work with the older AKAIO 1.8.1... which is odd.

With 1.8.5 it didn't work with Bypass AP on or off.

With 1.8.1 it works either way. I just checked and it was off so i turned it on and the game still loaded fine, EXP gain and all.

This thread, much like the official thread, is for both the EU and NA versions of the game.
Once the NA version is dumped you guys will have to start specifying which one you are using and which one you need.

I'm pretty sure it's part of the AP.

I think the Japanese version had a similar problem, or maybe when you switched your J save to E/U.

Maybe a bug with the newest FW? They were probably rushed to get it out.

In that case, delete your save, try the Panasonic SD Formatter, and re-start the game.

EDIT: Of course, back up your data before formatting!

I have tried that around ten times today, with around 7 different roms now for both black and white.
I'll try it again anyway.

7 different ROM's?!? There are only 6 that I know of, and that's if you count different regions and games!

well 7 different download sources. I think they all have the original download dumper (SweeTnDs)

Is there any other dumper? I will try them.

I just tried wi-fi trading with a friend, and while we could see each other on the room, once we talked to each other or tried to communicate, it'd get stuck on "Communicating with...". We tried it a couple of times, and it'd just end up not connecting us.

Tested it on R4 with Wood 1.26, with Pokémon White - both the clean and patched roms.

Okay, applied the patch, using an M3i Zero.

The game-play runs normally, no EXP freeze and no random freezing (played for 1 hour).

The only thing that constituted as an error was the fact that the game froze after exiting the Wi-Fi settings page. Clicked the Wi-Fi settings, remembered that my access point isn't set to WEP, then exited out without changing anything. That's when both screen turned white and promptly froze on me. No real effect on game-play (unless online battling/trading or special items are your thing) but it is a wierd event.

What firmware are you using ? I'm interested, because my M3i keeps freezing with the Quad-Boot...

I'm playing on Wood R4 1.26, it works perfectly. XP Gain, no computer bugs, saving works, haven't frozen for two hours now. Sweet

After reading through the whole thread, I can safely conclude that the patch in the OP only fixes the EX problem, and not the continual freezing ?? (on Akaio 1.8.1.)

Can someone please confirm this?
