This is like saying that Nintendo will eventually block all CFW somehow, and everyone should switch to A9LH or something.
The only reason RXTools is still kicking is because Nintendo has been rather dumb with their updates and people have been lucky for that. And there actually is a chance Nintendo will update the NATIVE FIRM and people will have to update combat that update. The current living CFW's have that benefit and if this problem were to happen a quick fix will then fallow.
RXTools users don't have this benefit, which means they either go without or are forced to upgrade. Which to be honest, would be easier on them to just upgrade now instead of waiting for the worst.

Also, people really should start using A9LH over other entrypoints. A9LH is almost impossible to remove and Nintendo will never do a targeted update to remove. Why? Because changing the code involved with A9LH will actually brick the system and Nintendo would never release an update that would break customer's products. And this doesn't just effect A9LH users either, this could effect non-hacked systems as well. So A9LH with an up to date CFW, is basically ideal for CFW users and no longer the 2 hour process to set it up.

How is waiting the worst thing they can do? If an rxTools user updates, and NATIVE_FIRM is updated, that won't brick their 3DS, correct? If that is the case, at that point, is when it's very easy to change to a new CFW if it's just as easy to do so now.

I don't think that with a new NATIVE_FIRM any CFW will work on that system untill you DSi downgrade or hardmod, and install A9LH that you could've installed way before
Or maybe not...

Huh, you're misunderstanding.

Well, 11.1 released a new NATIVE_FIRM and CFW still works (MenuHax, A9LH or whatever).

Don't you have to downgrade your NATIVE_FIRM to be able to downgrade and install A9LH?
and since A9LH has firm protection it didn't got overwritten with the 11.0 update

Huh, I think you're confused. We are talking about those who already have either MenuHax with EmuNAND or A9LH.

Ok now i'm confused

We're talking about how RXTools (an old CFW) should not be used as it hasn't been updated forever, these people didn't use anything but RXMode anyway, and there are better CFWs that are up-to-date and are simple to setup.

Not about installing CFW on a stock system.

If that is the case, then what is all the hubbub about? In the off chance that Nintendo releases a new NATIVE_FIRM that will ax rxTools?

There are countless issues with Gateway, from spending months without updates, their continued use of emuNAND, sysNAND CFW doesn't come with FIRM0/1 protection, their version of A9LH was out of date before it was even released, the brick code, ect. There's also the issue of the massive price tag that comes with this card.
Of course they aren't as as the Supercard team, that only stole code, they've even stolen code from code thieves. So at least you aren't using DSTwo+, at least the Gateway team tries to be somewhat original.
Why are you mad at Supercard, they made it 10x easier to reverse engineer GW's code :P

Not to mention that trying to make rxTools for the modern age is literally trying to polish a turd. Whatever you do, it's still a turd.
(although I might still work on my rxTools fork from time to time, just for fun)

Their ReiNand fork that should be open source. I guess.

The GPL was designed SPECIFICALLY to prevent unfair shit like this from happening.
(It actually pisses me off when I see GPL violations get sorted out here, but see other people doing the same thing elsewhere.)
I guess it doesn't reallistically apply to these shady af companies though, due to how they operate.
But hey, something similar can be made, especially with shinyquagsire's card communication stuff (although I don't even know how to use it, and can't even due to bricking my 3DS.)

It only takes a few minutes to change and you eliminate the chances of having to switch anyway. RXTools is not being fixed in any way anytime soon, once it breaks in a future update, it's broken.

How about you let people switch over when they HAVE to? rxTools isn't broken yet, and if it works perfectly for those who have it, let them use it.

How about trying to play retroarch, or use the lastest DS mode discovers, or playing out-of-region games downloaded from freeshop/ciangel, or having good nand backups, or convert 3ds to cia without the need of xorpads without PC tools?
Good luck with that ;)
