next time know your place

Good points, just wanna mention quickly that the thing about paying to get a 3ds a9lh'd wasn't what i was talking about, the person was charging people to walk them through 3ds.guide.

ok btw sorry for being mean a little it's because there is people that are stubborn as hell in this thread.
and hey, at least it's better than a newb making a thread and lots of people trying to help him but they can't because they don't got that much information.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

note these videos can be reported for "misleading", so there is that.

i checked those right now and they aren't misleading, so you don't need to worry.

actualy lemme put one point.
if plailect's guide was the only way to get your a9lh hack, not alot of people would get it, and this is why :
the newbs don't know about it.
they check google because its international.
youtube is the bootleg of google. (lmao)
so i would thank the youtubers to give plailect's guide the attention it needs.
i bet someone here first got the information about the guide by youtube.

I meant misleading more along the lines of "outdated", or with some of them being potential to be dangerous. Although mass amounts of reporting these videos might send a message at least.

One thing I've learned from being in these homebrew communities from the past few years is how important "doing your homework" (research) is, and to know what you are doing instead of blindly following a video/guide. It helps alot, especially with problem solving small issues that crop up.
I want to see a youtube video that just has a link to the guide, and explains how to just follow the guide and not youtube videos

Ever since 11.2 became fully exploitable we've had an influx of new users with a myriad of issues after following videos on YouTube. STOP. FOLLOWING. THESE. VIDEOS. They are typically full of misinformation, outdated after a day or so due to how rapidly this scene changes, and one even recently led to hundreds of new users bricking their console because the uploader idiotically told viewers to use his OTP. The only guide people should follow is this. <-- THAT ONE RIGHT FUCKING THERE. Sorry if you're a visual aid kind of person, or you don't speak English well enough, but it's either highly risking a brick or facing other problems and posting the exact same question we get hundreds of times a day, or expanding upon your comprehension skills. I hate to post this, but I've seen a cornucopia of new posts every day that usually go "HALP, I WUZ FOLLOWIN DIS VID AN NOW I DUN FUK'D". This thread will most likely go ignored, which is to be expected since people much prefer to open their mouth to be bottle fed rather than expand upon their own knowledge, but whatever; I felt it necessary to bitch.

Update: Plailect is working on implementing a crowd driven translation project that anyone can contribute to. It's currently breaking stuff, though, so stay tuned.
Sigged
If you're active around here, I'd do the same so more people see. Just a thought
EDIT; Yeah I know I'm late to the party. Still.

i did my research but i still get my stuffs from youtube its better for me i don't actualy like reading.
i mean i a9lh my brother's 3ds from plailect's guide once and i will never go back its annoying. reading is not my thing.
and its not outdated look the time those videos been posted.

  1. Reinsert your SD card into your 3DS
  2. Do the steps for installing arm9loaderhax on your device:
    • You should be on 2.1.0
    • Go to http://dukesrg.github.io/2xrsa.html?arm11.bin on your 3DS
    • If you get the error “This service is not available in your region”, use the System Settings to set your device’s country to match the NAND region you installed with 2.1.0 ctrtransfer
    • If you get another error, follow this troubleshooting guide
    • If you get a glitched screen, follow this troubleshooting guide
    • Press (Select) to Full Install
    • The installer will now install arm9loaderhax on your device (this is very fast)
    • Shut down your console, hold the power button until it turns off if necessary
    • Copy your console specific OTP.bin from the /a9lh/ folder on your SD card to a safe location on your computer and back it up to multiple locations (such as online file storage), then reinsert your SD card into your 3DS

depends which videos, and this is more geared towards the dangerous ones

If you really have that much of a bias against reading, I may suggest wanting to look into adjusting that. Much of today's useful information is still in written word.

you get the otp.bin from otphelper.
he just told you where to place it but not where to get it.

Last edited by RiverPerson,
he is basically fixing his errors lmao
like i said a LOOOOOOONG time ago
his guide is not 99% accurate.
I'm getting so pissed off dealing with you, like I have said before, YOU HAVEN'T GIVEN A SINGLE REASON THAT VIDEO'S ARE BETTER THEN TEXT. Until you can do that, please just leave. I know you won't, because you don't have the mental capacity to, but there's my challenge. Leave until you find a reason, then come back, please.
