Please help

I have a PS Vita from a friend who never used it and I'm trying to hack it for my young son, so that he can use a SD2vita card. I followed a video on YouTube but had a problem where a menu that should have been available (in vdep), wasn't there and I was routed to a reboot menu instead. If I now reopen vdep, an error code appears (c1-6775-5), and I don't know what to do. I can still play a game that has been loaded into the internal memory but I daren't do anything else for fear of bricking the Vita (if I haven't bricked it already!).

Should I just restart add if I hadn't done anything, should I do a factory reset, or something else entirely?

I should mention that I've had a stroke and now cannot follow complex instructions, so I'd be grateful if you could give simple, easily understood instructions - I was only able to follow the video because I could see what was being done.

I would be very grateful for any help you can offer.

Try installing henkaku, then exiting henlo bootstrap, then re-enter bootstrap, then download vitadeploy, enable unsafe homebrew and enter vitadeploy

I think I installed henkaku as part of the video instructions; what's a bootstrap? I'm sorry but as I said, I'm not familiar with the terminology and need things spelling out in simple terms.

The good news is I doubt your Vita is busted, I hacked my Vita five years ago so my memory is a bit vauge but as Nurie38 said try reinstalling henkaku and vitashell, it is important to install vitashell after henkaku, in some cases however, which was the case with me, vitashell did not install properly and I had to install it manually from the PC, again I don't remember the process properly and I'm not currently on PC to check but someone else maybe can help you in this process as I have a feeling this is the issue you are running into, also in order to use SD2Vita I believe you do have to downgrade to 3.65.

And don't forget that if your sd card is bigger than 256gb use 64kb as cluster size when formatting it
in cfwaifu is a tutorial to format the micro sd card.
