Hacking Please help with Gold R4 3DS

I have two flash cart from www.r4issdhc.com, GOLD R4 3DS and R4 3DS POCKET.
That was the only flash cart for 3DS available in the store.

I tried to make it work by putting moonshl2, R4iMenu, R4.dat, and other downloads from the site. But it always says "MENU?" when I turn them on. I tried with the TTMenu but it wont work either.
What am I doing wrong?

Am I missing something or am I suppose to rename something?
Could you PLEASE tell me what I am suppose to do? I really want to get them to work!

First of all, you should note that these cards DO NOT work on the latest 3DS firmware (that isn't your problem, though).

Secondly, did you download the R4iSSDHC core v3.006 package and extract everything in the folder to the root? Looking at the download, there's one folder in the RAR and then inside that folder are the files that are supposed to be on the root of the SD card. So for example the root of your SD card should look like this:

(These are the contents of the english version, use whichever language you want)
MOONSHL
YSMENU
R4MENU
0000-Back R4imenu.nds
ill.il
r4.pk
TTMENU.SYS

Thank you. I have been trying to start it for months. I was able to start it.
But now it wont finish loading the game like "kirby canvas curse."

I just dragged and dropped the rom in the root of my SD card. What did I do wrong? Can I use SAV from DSTTs?
I cant download moonshellv.2.1 from the site. Where can I download it?

Pleas tell me.

I'm not sure you can use DSTT savs. What do you mean it doesn't finish loading a game? Does it give any errors?

I press "A" and the game would start loading but it just doesn't start. It doesn't say that any error occurred either.
Am I not patient enough? Because my DSTT loads games in about 2~4seconds.

About the moonshell, could I just drag the latest one in my SD?
Are there any needs of reformatting the SD and getting rid of the old one before I put it in?

It would be best to reformat the card before you do it or at least delete the older moonshell folder.

I'm not sure why the game doesn't load, are there any cheats active or any patches?

I dont think there is a patch because it works fine on my DSTT.

There was a file "firmware upgrade" How am I supposed to use the content?

I downloaded a firmware upgrade.rar and opened the file but I don't know how to upgrade my cart.
The file contained: firmware upgrade.nds
upgrade.dat

Please tell me how to use them.

you must load the .nds fro the r4 menu.
if you get a blocked error you will need a ds where the r4 works to use it.
btw what is your flash cart?

Am I supposed to put "firmware upgrade" file in the root of my SD or do I just put the content of the file in my SD?

The menu stars ok, but when I try to load the game it would stop loading around 70%.
The square part in the bottom left of the screen turns even if I eject the cart.

How am I suppose to fix this?

Cant I just use the "disc utility" from mac to reformat my SD because I have done it for my NDSTT.

Standard OS formats aren't the best for flash cart microsds, for various reasons.

I downloaded "firmware upgrade.rar" and opened the file but I don't understand how to use the content.
It says something about the ID mismatched and it would turn off.

About the rom, there are ones that doesn't finish loading. It worked fine on my NDSTT but some of the it wont load. Some of the ones that doesn't work are:
Kirby Canvas Curse, Super Mario 64 DS, New Super Mario Bros., Fire Emblem, and all the Pokemon series.
I believe they don't require patches or anything tricky like that.


If you know how to fix these problems please tell me.
