Hacking Please help, Error (8002F957)

Please help me, as I am a total newbie to this and has already spent many hours in vain.

I have a pS3 Slim that that is running 4.86.1 (HFW) Hybrid Firmware and PS3 HEN.

I would like to install a custom firmware over the existing one,, like Rebug 4.82.2

My PS3 is CEX and is compatible with CFW according to the results from running a BGTOOLSET.

I have tried downloading multiple CFW's onto the memory stick and upgrading via memory stick plugged into PS3 one at a time.

Yet, every time I try to do it, regardless of CFW, I get an error message half way through the process:

The data is corrupted (8002F957)

I am missing something or doing something wrong?

you can try to rebuild your database from the recovery menu. It might fix your problem. also make sure your usb have enough power. ps3 usb is under powered.
