Nope; the DS can only run one piece of software at a time. You cannot run a homebrew while another game is running at all.
 
No, already confirmed by several NDS homebrew coders that NDS isn't made for multitasking!

The closest thing you'll get is M3 Sakura/Moonshell 2.00 that lets you navigate/browse trough the cart while listening to MP3 (and that gets extremely laggy), there is NO way you could listen to the MP3 while playing a game..

Maybe, what they should do, but I know wouldn't work is use a computer like processor, maybe use one of the older ones like a pentiumIII or IV, but I doubt that would be sufficent for game play, and there would be no way to cool such a thing, if they do it would be bulky and probably very expensive

But doubt it... What I do is listen to music with another device.
