Discussione in italiano qui

I want to play CTGP Revolution 1.03 with GamePad. On vWii I installed the channel via homebrew downloaded from the official website and if I use it from there it works. Then I created a injection (the attached file) with TeconMoon Wii VC Injector, selecting vWii Nand Title Launcher with the channel ID read from USB Loader GX from the following screen:

And I selected the Classic Controller Emulation. But when I open this injection from Wii U menu the screen remains black and the console doesn't turn off holding the power button, and I have to unplug it. Injection is installed on USB. How to play CTGP with GamePad (or Pro Controller)?

Yesterday I tried to use the option Wii Homebrew Injection (this is the new file). Now CTGP boots, but GamePad doesn't work and if I select with the Wiimote Launch Game it says that there isn't a Mario Kart Wii disk in the console...

I believe gamepad only works in Nintendont because it has been made to work with it, it won't work in (most) other homebrew. And I guess the disc drive is not usable in Wii VC because it has a disc drive emulator.

As far as I know, there's no way to do this with CTGP 1.03. You can build an ISO with the files from CTGP 1.02 and then install that ISO with TeconMoon's Wii VC Injector, but that's as good as it gets.

Yes, and this is why I installed the channel on vWii remapping the GamePad, but it doesn't works.

How can I build this iso? With version 1.02 Wiimmfi still works?

I guess I'll buy a classic controller pro...

It will only work in WiiVC and only with homebrew that is made to work with it. If you could actually get the game loaded it would work with the gamepad though. But without disc drive access, and considering the anti-piracy (really more intended to prevent cheating but yeah) in CTGP there doesn't seem to be a way to load it without using a real disc.

You can play Wii titles with a Gamepad, only if they are injected into a Wii game released for the Wii U that offered Gamepad support (like Xenoblade Chronicles) and as long as they could be played originally with a Wii classic controller. You can't make this work by first loading up a USB loader and then launching the game, that will never work with the Gamepad. So if you have a copy of this modded game in straight up .wbfs or .iso format, you should be able to make it work with the Gamepad, as long as you properly inject it.

You can't mod an ISO or WBFS file with CTGPR 1.03. The files are encrypted and need to be loaded through a special loader homebrew that only works with real discs. You can however do that with CTGPR 1.02, but that's really old, and doesn't support online. A lot of the custom tracks in 1.02 are also not great, they can be poorly designed with gaps that are impossible to pass with certain karts, or completely broken AI that just drives off a ledge constantly.

I know how injection works (I've got lots of them), but I can't inject CTGP, I must start it from its homebrew.

Well that's the only way you can get full Wii games to play with the Gamepad. But as noted above you, it appears that the latest CTGP isn't available in a .wbfs or .iso form, so if you're looking for Gamepad support for it, then you're sadly out of luck.

CTGP has got a channel, and with TeconMoon Injector I can create a forwarder to a title installed on vWii Nand mapping GamePad as Classic Controller, but:

I understand that, but it's not going to work that way. You can get Wiiware and junk to load that way, but by still needing a disc, it'll never work this way. Now if you could manage to get this version in an iso or wbfs format you could. But that is apparently not on the table.

Hey there, I'm kinda late, but would it work with the disc in the Wii U ?

I mean, there is a MKWii Injection with GamePad support, so why wouldn't it be the same for CTGP ?

Yes, MKWii CTGP was coded to only work with a retail disk of MKWii, whether played on a modded Wii or modded Wii U.

Edit for clarity: even still CTGP will need to be loaded through the vWii homebrew that patches CTGP to the retail copy every time, meaning you still wouldn't be able to pay on the GamePad this way.

Having said that, I would recommend instead going for the newer Mario Kart Wii Deluxe mod. It's like CTGP, but with even more tracks to race on, and the creator of it, did not add in the code requiring a legit disc of the game, meaning you can straight up install the .iso or .wbfs, or even as an injected Wii VC game on the Wii U to allow for playing with the GamePad when desired.

Wow, sounds great ! I'm downloading it when I have the time and storage space on my USB drive !

Is it compatible with GC adapters tho ?

No, as far as I know, only one Wii game has ever been patched to be able to played with the GC adapter on the Wii U and that's Brawl (and I believe Project M as well). Unfortunately the patch in question isn't universal and has to be designed on a per-game basis, and the person that made the patch for Brawl has not gone on to do the same for any other Wii games that could be played with GameCube controllers.

Aw, weird, since it is possible to use a GC adapter on CTGP.

but you can
Can't see a GCN controller getting used in that video. Now please stop spamming this video at each thread mentioning CTGP, no matter how many years old.

All you do with this is making other users angry (untill they report you) and burrying your own thread (the one you ask for help) below a shitload oft your spam posts, highly reducing the chance of someone knowing the answer beeing able to see it.

Is that video fake ?
