OK. I did a half-ass test (by half-ass I just did this the once, didn't move my clock up on my Wii to create a new play history log) with the Wii play history from the message board. I ran various channels for no longer than 5mins each. I didn't dump any raw data so I don't know how significant this noodle of info is. Here's a workaround if you are REALLY that PARANOID. Basically run 10 entries into the play history then anything after that is categorized as "Others".

Homebrew Channel
00:01

Homebrew Channel
00:01

Super Mario World
00:04

Super Mario Bros. 3
00:01

Super Mario World
00:02

Mii Channel
00:02

Mario Kart Wii (c'mon nintendo, tag it in the playhistory as Mario Kart Channel)
00:01

Photo Channel
00:01

Forecast Channel
00:01

News Channel
00:03

Now the next channel I selected (Super Mario Bros. 3) the play history began to file all entries as "Others" under the 10th entry "News Channel".

Others
00:01

I then proceeded to go into the Homebrew Channel for 2 possible play history entries of 5 seconds then 1 minute which should add another 2 minutes to the total time (Apparently loading a channel and going to the title screen counts as 1min even tho it was only 5 seconds).

After that I played Star Soldier R (1 turn on 2min and quick shot mode) which added another 4 minutes to the play history.

Others
00:05

Total 00:22

"Others" is not important but the time history can be view by Nintendo (in the Nintendo Channel it's sure, maybe in other channels too...)

The Nintendo Channel may log play history in realtime, but I doubt anyone has logged packets to figure it out.

It's possible that they save bandwidth and only request certain play usage at a given time.
