While I don't know about Luminous Arc 2, the first one was definitely a plain game with none of the charm of SRPGs.

Off the top of my head, Fire Emblem is coming out soon, so is Dragon Quest V, and Legacy of Ys. You may want to try The World Ends with You.

It should be clear that these are opinions. Anyone who thinks these are facts needs to put their DS down for a week or two.

Anyway, Disgaea DS is an excellent SRPG. I'd recommend playing that, you could have anywhere between 15 and 100+ hours of game time with it - it's that good.
