I was editing a Pokémon Platinum save and any save exported from PkHex fails with Error Code 0xC8804478. I’m new to hacking and have a feeling that the answer is incredibly obvious so any help would be great.

i would suggest to use Universal-Updater and update/reinstall everything you can find. other than that, have you tried restoring a clean backup from your game? can you try loading the edited save file with an emulator? and are you on the latest luma version? do you have an old 3ds or a new one? try the .cia version of TWLSaveTool. weirdly enough, everything worked fine when i was messing with PkHeX and TWLSaveTool

The universal updated gave me nothing. A backup of the game not going thru PkHex works fine. How do I add a save file on Nosgba? I downloaded luma a few months ago so I should be. I have a new 2ds xl. Do I put the cia file on the cias folder of my sd card. If so, how do I open it from there

You install it with fbi like you would with any other cia file.

I installed the cia and got it onto my Home Screen but I got the same crash upon opening

First try to copy the modified save file to the battery folder of no$gba and be sure that the rom and save files are named identically. if the save works, its not about pkhex. also im guessing something is causing issues on your cfw since you get errors on twlsavetool which works fine on my 2dsxl and it somehow panics when restoring a modified save file... maybe the problem is really something with pkhex, but ill look into that now.

If universal updater at least works, try downloading everything from the titles in the picture:

GodMode9.firm

EzB9SUpdater.cia

boot.firm (not the hourly one)

and FBI.cia

do you also have the latest system update for your 2ds? probably wont do anything but just to be up to date. Restart your 2ds if everything is installed.

might be that your 2ds is showing up the luma configuration after restart, just check the "show nand or user string" option and press start

after that, try opening the EzB9SUpdater and follow the instructions. then try opening twlsavetool again and if it works, try restoring your modified save file with checkpoint. if anything doesnt work, please let us know then ^^

I was able to open the modded save in a emulator with changes present. The universal updater told me to connect to wifi (which I am) and then gave me nothing on the Home Screen. I don’t know where “show nand or user string” or ezb9supdater are too

Thats weird... in your system settings, what is written on the top screen, bottom right? something like 11.15.XXXX with or without Sys before? when holding select while powering on, which luma version is mentioned on top screen there? and still on the luma screen, what does it say on the bottom screen from where b9s was booted?
