might sound rude dude but mind your own business its not like you need to educate an old nintendo scene i think everyone here knows the risk with our r4s and our wiikeys
As people have already explained before me, this is completely different from pirating retail Wii or DS games. Nintendo has no way of knowing whether or not you purchased those games. But here, the risks are elevated - Nintendo keeps records of everything you've downloaded. If you linked your Wii Shop account to your My Nintendo account, for example, you can even see the games you've downloaded online.

I disconnected my nintendo account from the wii shop channel before installing. Does this mean I''m save. (It's not that I don't know the risks)

Probably not. Your Wii shop channel account is still intact. The records are stored on there as well.

OK:) Thanks

I think that you are acctually wrong !!

If i delete all my wii settings from the system menu, than i have a clean NAND memory !!
Wich also means that all channels (VC games) i downloaded will be removed.

At that point my NAND memory is also different than the one on the server of Nintendo. I still can download them.

Because your shop account isn't erased unless you specifically remove the entire account online. They are tied to your account, which is tied to your Wii system id but is not any part of the NAND. And anyway, if you then also erased your account, you cannot download them again...
Not a way around it at all if you still want your account online. If you want to format that often however, go right ahead and try.

Installing a hacked VC game is fine (if you don't have a VC/Nintendo account) as far as I can make out, but downloading for free off the shop certainly won't be.

I have installed only one VC pirated game, Kirby NES.
Deleted it, and downloaded again from the WiiShop.

After this I checked my registered products from my account, on Nintendo website.
Here I can see every game, console and vc games downloaded legally.
But Kirby NES isn't listed.

In other words, for my online account i haven't downloaded nothing.
Maybe with the VC pirated game installation the account is untouched.

Someone with the same "problem"?

Except when it comes to IOS37. Then they'd be screwed either way.

People should do what they want. There is no evidence nintendo can trace vc games. coolbho3000 is just speculating. Hey warn people if you like but It just a guess. Time will tell who is right. Recently it seems like there are a lot of posts claiming they know what Nintendo's next move will be. I wouldn't get too worked just yet.

nintendo can find out if they like and ban me. I'm hardly gunna be pissed about being banned from nintendo online service (If you can call it that)

I dont see why people are cracking out about the possibility of getting banned.

The only speculation in my post is that Nintendo may ban people who are detected to do this.

The rest is not.

agreed...Everyone saying nintendo are gunna shut off the whole trucha bug....well wheres the action from nintendo? Theyve had plenty of time to do so, why havent they done anything about all of this yet? I mean bushing going on about now the VC games have been dumped nintendo will patch the bug, well why havent they done it in this week? Before it got this far?

Yeah I was thinking of that too. This is a very easy way for Nintendo to detect VC piracy. They may ban you from their network. No more mario kart!

IOS37 is in place ... all they have to do is 'activate' it ...

Soon, a forced update will come, online, and on new game discs ...

They have not done it yet, because it takes time to put the new updates together, and to get them onto discs ... all the recent releases went gold before the IOS37 implementation ...

Because there's no incentive to update.

what about mario kart for us PAL users? That was just last week, plenty of incentive. Hell, we havent even seen the iso37 in europe yet.
Then, nobody was pirating VC games. The copies were printed before any of this was done.
