Photo Channel to be updated

That's dissapointing about the loss of MP3 compatability

I will miss having a slideshow of funny, random pictures with solemn and classical music in the background.


Picture channel shouldn't be updated; Mii channel should be updated (more options to customized) or they should create a "Music" channel in which you can upload or play MP3's from your Wii (since they're taking it away from the picture channel)...

Just to let you guys know that the loss of mp3 is bad but no horrible. Aac has it's advantages. Also their will probably a new red kawa wii video 9 update since it no longer can encode videos with mp3s. That is where i like it. I have made a motion jpeg avi with mp3 encoding to be like 20 minutes=250mb. But i also made a motion jepg avi with aac encoding to be like 20 minutes=100 mb. Same qualty.

Why get rid of a feature to just replace it with a less usefull version?
I hope they will atleast make it more multi format compatible.
I didnt like how half of my random images loaded for the point of loading them didnt show up on the menu.

Still, if the pointlessness of MP3 playback is gone, then the novelty is also gone.

Maybe they'll turn back and go "WTF? Why U do DaT?" and fix it to work with music again. Or better yet, just call it a multimedia channel for playing movies and music crap with the pictures. Makes more sense.

Still, theres two things I really wanna see nintendo do with upgrades and crap.
Customizable colors/background on the wiimenu.
Customizable repeating sound of annoyance.

The photo channel is just a novelty for me. Though its fun to draw on crap. I hope they improve it more and add some Gameboy Camera like mini games xD

Eh still, why m4a and not ogg? Why not OGG?!

I remember a stupid rumor a while back that they might join, but we know it'll never happen.
Having an AAC deal for wii though, is not unlikely at all

If you update your Photo Channel to version 1.1 you'll lose mp3 support. Thankfully for the indecisive, Nintendo have provided a workaroud, as you can upgrade and downgrade the software to your heart's content. Nintendo.com has the how-to guide.

I didn't even know you could play MP3s through the PHOTO channel. Weird.

I'll upgrade it just to have the newest version but I'll still never use it.
So it only affects the MP3 playback via the Photo channel, right? I also didn't know that was possible, only used the channel once when I got my Wii to check it out.
