Reasons to get a PS4: basically a all in one pc meant for gaming and requires no upgrades.

Reasons to upgrade or build a new pc: ability to customize your case, a ability to go way over board with how much ram you want, GPU's don't need to be upgraded as long as it runs the games you want to play, ability to over clock that CPU and gpu, most pcs can run whatever OS you throw at it, supports multiple hdd/sdd/pcie based ssd, can run multiple graphics cards, piracy and emulation are easily to access.

Clearly pc is superior in most cases. But PS4 is optimized for gaming uses. Pc is basically a game station/work station all in one
also, hello better graphics #pcmr

What graphics card? 2gb of ram wouldn't be that hard to upgrade, if you have a half decent card then 8 or 4gb of ram is a sizeable upgrade.

Wasn't aware of that, but also im talking about how you have to pay 60$ for a game (overwatch) and then more a month (ps+) just to play online, when the same deal is 40$ on pc
op said he couldn't upgrade the ram without buying a new motherboard. if 2gb is his max you really gotta ask yourself just how old the thing is.

In my opinion op should buy a used sandy bridge i5/i7 or 1 generation higher and upgrading from there. might end up costing an extra 100-200 dollars but to get that ps4 playing overwatch it's $130 for the game and psn+ to go online compared to $40 or less via pc giving a $90 cost saving that can get them a rx550 (enough for overwatch without needing to change psu) and still have $20 left over for the memory upgrade. all in all OP should expect his pc to cost no more $550 with overwatch included whereas the used ps4 game and psn+ would be about $480 (the difference being bridged the moment year 2 of psn+ come around)

For me that is an easy choice, upgrade your PC. How much longer until PS5 comes out? And then you need a new box while the PC will most likely still run all (or close to all) the games released at that point.

It does sound like you want a PS4 more though, it's not a bad choice, it's just one I would never make.

Personally I would go for a PC, just because games are so much cheaper during steam sales and such (Unless you buy used physical copies).

Although if you find a PS4 for like 100$ like one of my friends, I'd grab it. A PC with ps4 level graphics will probably be around 300-500$. Especially if you are just playing a few games. Online is kinda expensive though, really up to what you would be willing to trade.

Why even choose. Buy whichever you think is most cost effective for you at the moment.

Get more money, buy the other one you wanted in the future. Both have different selection of games, potential and usefulness.

I personally have an xbox one and a cheap 3rd gen i5 laptop with eGPU using gtx 960 which can run overwatch on ultra.

Ps4 if you are interested in exclusive jrpg's and want a convenient way to have access to 3rd party. For pc you will have to build it for it to be on a budget, but it outclasses every console since you can tweak the resolution and textures to your liking along with mod support for multiple games.

Comparing the ps4 to the PC is like comparing luma to corbenik

A PS4 definitely gives you more bang for your buck and doesn't take up much space. $250 with a game is pretty good if you ask me. Plus the PS4 has some absolutely amazing exclusives.

Of course a PC will be more powerful, if that matters to you.

Personally, I just wanna be able to play the current games and I really like Sony's exclusives. PS4 is good enough for me.

If it's just for Overwatch, just upgrade your PC, why buying a console only for one game ?

First of all what's your budget? And pc doesn't mean pirate, you can buy games from steam or similar and there are discounts.
The thing i like about pc isn't only the graphics games, it's about mods.
