Yesterday i found my 3D Glasses for my stereoscopic 3D TV, and was asking myself: Have you ever used them much? To be honest: Only for a few 3D movies, Silent Hill Downpour on my Xbox 360, and a few 3D games on my PS3. Actually a shame. The active-shutter glasses have cost about 60 Euros in 2012, and i -personally- always liked stereoscopic 3D in games/movies.

I have moved the TV to my room now, and my PC, a PS4, a PS Vita TV and a 3D compatible Blu-Ray-Player is connected to it.

Does anone know (PC) games in 3D who can be recommended? Or games for PS4/Vita TV? Or maybe good movies/documentations? I'am currently in the mood of seeing/playing something in 3D

P.S.: Sad that stereoscopic 3D was never accepted by the masses. Because of this only a few games/movies supporting this feature, and today it's nearly dead (right?). I always liked it...:(

I watched the 3D versions of movies any chance I got, with varying results. Works great on animated movies and the few movies that are really designed with 3D in mind like Avatar. Hardly noticeable on many others. I have 3 pairs of the damn active shutter glasses and only 2 of them were ever used.
I upgraded to a 4K HDR TV earlier this year and with that, I can no longer watch 3D movies. Which is kind of a pity, I'd love to have a TV capable of 4K, HDR and 3D but they just don't exist. There are still some 3D movies coming out.
The 3D effect works way better in the cinema (much bigger screen after all) so it's understandable why 3D on TVs is no longer a thing but it didn't have to be that way. Most 4K TVs support 120hz so they already have everything that's needed for active 3D on the TV side, except for the transmitter that syncs up the glasses (which costs like nothing)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Nvidia_3D_Vision_Ready_games < This is a list of games that officially support Nvidia's 3D Vision "kit", which should work with most active shutter glasses AFAIK. However, you will need an Nvidia GPU, I'm not 100% sure if it has support for your display, and 3D vision was discontinued in 2019 so you'll need to use a driver version that still supports 3D vision (425.31 or lower).

http://web.archive.org/web/20171020...v=nVidia&sdr=all&grp_by=pos_gam_name&view=all < Here's an unofficial list as well of games that are unofficially supported but still work. Some have better support than others, and that list includes a "rating" that tells you how good the support is.

Other than that, you'll find basically nothing on PC. IIRC the PS3 had a good chunk of like 50 or so games that also support stereoscopic 3D, but I don't remember if you had to use their own TV or if other stereoscopic games would be supported.

i admit it's less at home than in the cinema, but the main reason for bad sales of 3d movies is in my opinion the price of 30 euros.

and i dread the moment my 3d tv dies and i cannot replace it.

You can play pretty much any PC game in 3D with stuff like TriDef by the way. :)

I don't recall specific apps, as I play around with a lot, but 3D works well (after a bit of googling) on the PC when combining MPC-HC with certain virtual desktop apps and the Oculus rift. With that, you can also play 3D PC games (and I use an AMD card... currently a Vega64). With VorpX (not free), many games not intended for 3D or VR can be played as such. If you're not one of those who complains about "the screen door effect", it may be something you'll want to look into.

3D porn was cool... but 180/360/VR porn? Bruh... :rofl2:
