I personally dont care that they are selling/trying to make money off it. Im more concerned with the lies told to get the money.

I would feel no shame in charging someone to install this for someone if they werent comfortable in doing it themselves. However I would be ashamed to present it in a gimmicky fashion like this and sell it with outright lies.

Faking user reviews etc is just despicable as well.

I always thought the ability to play " backups " has to be limited by a modchip or actually complicated ans difficult to achieve.
In fact what would happen if every noob out there would be able to softmod their Wiis with minimal effort and start to play backups instead of buying real games ?
Dreamcast 2, that's what's gonna happen.
Nintendo has always been very careful as to not allow their systems to be hacked.
Before the R4 for DS and the Wii homebrew scene, it was still possible to play backups, but it was difficult and expensive.
My first flashcart was for a GBA and I paid $180 for it, and it could only hold 4-6 games.
Was it worth it ? For me yes, but not for the average kid out there which didn't know how to make Windows recognize the linker.
I suppose similar things where there for the GB and N64, but I never heard of them.
Point is, piracy was there but it was contained. With this ability to play backups without even a modchip ( which many people are afraid or don't know how to buy and install ), I see only problems in the future.
I just don't want my Wii to end up like the Dreamcast.

And no, if I buy original games for myself won't save the situation.

I do hear what you are saying and dont entirely disagree. I dont really think there is anything to do but cross your fingers and hope everything works out for the best.

what is this bull crap "software" anyway? In my experience anything without available source or trusted developers is bull crap.

I'm interested in what's in the disc that was included...

And seriously... 32MB SD?!?!

what happened with the disc that said "insert in wii"

Not sure, didn't really work...

W8! Ran it with Gamma and it loaded the HBC. I believe it was that installation file for chipped users that was made like 6 months ago...

Oh crap! Double post! Sorry!

Disclaimer and side note: I am well aware that the software provided in this package is freely available. What this package is actaully selling is a PDF guide. The pdf guide is authentic, with info on how to unlock the wii, step by step.

Man, I've been helping people for free! And I don't type with massive spelling errors...

Guess I need to charge more then $29 dollars then.

So they actually send something?? Like a 32mb sd? At least thats not as bad as after you pay, you get a mail redirecting you to a tut thread here on how to install the HBC.

Wait...
ONE DAY SHIPPING?!@?!
This tread was started yesterday, RIGHT!?!?

and REALLY?!!
32 MB SD card!? Don't people need to put in roms in there?!
rofl2.gif

So... inside the package, to my knowledge, is:
An outdated homebrew channel installer disc.
A SD card with barely any space in it.
People's hard outdated work in the sd.
A whole bunch of lies.
And a n00b friendly guide on how to "homebrew"
wtf.gif

Maybe I'm wrong but I think the n00b friendly guide is a sticky in the wii boards...

That noob guy that was lurking around was probably the guy who did that site because I know I emailed him personally and told him to come here because we wanted a little peice of him...hehe

What's next?!

In a way.. I was hoping it was one of the homebrew coders that finally wised up and made some money off this shit for all their hard work... Team Alter-Wiigo...uh

Peace

Ok, does anyone acutally have this or not?? Will someone just upload the software so we can all see it?

I have a modchip, so I can test it without fear of bricking my wii...
