Well... I bit just for fun and bought this.

Essentially this guy is selling a Homebrew Guide , more or less, and including the needed software (Except Zelda) "free". According to him, you are paying for the setup guide.

My thoughts: If you are a complete homebrew newbie, and have NO idea how to get started, this guide would work for you. It pretty much takes you by the hand and gets you all setup.

For most of us with some technical know-how, it's not really worth it. All the information in his homebrew manual can be found online for free IF you know where to look.

This is definatly a case of some people seeing "HomebreWare" as a value, and others seeing it as a scam.

Jim

well if you actually bought this then upload it on rapidshare or torrent and share it with everyone!

Jeez, I come back and STILL no one has bought it

We should all pitch in a buck and buy it.

"The GBATEMP Wii Homebrew for suckers Fund"! Has a nice ring to it.

Edit: ..wait, someone did buy it? I see the quote above says jtopicz1 bought it. So....gonna send a link?

HomebreWare cannot and will not brick your console this advice is just in case of highly unlikely scenario.
They are completely bullshitting homebrew on Wii is never comes without a consequence or warnings. This makes me want to say things I'm not allowed to say.

True American's what?

This person is selling what people have put alot of work into, and also lying about what it can do.

DJDynamite, how about you create something, then I turn around and sell it... how would you feel?

Why don't you just give up with your usless posting... you've been here for about 3 months, and have over 2000 posts... 90% of them are just wastes of bandwith, like the above comment...

Double Post...

Called and reported! hahahahahahahahahaha

Speaking to a Nintendo Supervisor now... hahahahaha... this guy's gonna go to jail over this... way too funny! (just ask the family that's sitting in jail over the R4's)

If everyone can go to http://ap.nintendo.com/report/ to report this site, we can get it taken down by the 3rd!

if somebody wants to setup a paypal account to donate to, I'd be willing to throw a couple of bucks in.

We will never stop the crap from happening. I have found over 6 different sites doing the same thing....the newest being consolemodder.com (atleast they tell you that you need Zelda and it's $8 instead of $30)

lol there approach is all wrong with man mistakes, "over $100" to mod a wii? wow where does erick live? and play free backups? umm no you have to actualy backup your game, there selling pirate products, isnt there something int the GPL(cant rememeber its name something like that though lol) that means they aint allowed to sell this, someone shut them down.

Yeah, you cannot distribute something under the GPL license commercially for money without the owner's/copyrighter's consent. Does Team Twizzers know about this yet?

I'm sorry...but I personally think turning him is not really the right thing to do either. How does 2 wrongs make a right, instead of a hell of a sharp left? I mean, I am really only speaking for myself in this... but how many pay for the internet to download pirated wii games? Who's guilty of what there? Because it is sort of legal?! Sometimes I just think everyone is out there to hustle... some are just bottom feeders... I don't put signs up because I charge people homebrew, softmod, starfall and whatever else helps.. their Wii's but I DO charge people.. for the wear and tear on my burners, and time invested in all the work and frustrations... not to mention..yanking the sd card back out and sliding homebrew to the farside and telling them not to do an sort of update without calling me first.... and theywill call me for anymore games they want... and I know plenty more people which will remain disclosed that do it on here as well... Do I have to go fish through these threads to see who else posted that they would charge for doing someone else's Wii? I know what I do is more personal than via the internet.... but shit... they are just hustling.... aren't we hustling Nintendo for our money's worth when we decided hacking their project?!

I don't know... there is yet... the fine line between piracy, infringement and the sort.

My personal opinion is...fuck it! They knew what they were getting themselves into when they produced their products.... how many times have you seen something bought and enhanced or modified? Electronically or Mechanically?

I could argue my side forever... pointless though...and really the wrong place... but on the other hand...
being that I am one bi-polar individual... I wrote the guy a nasty letter telling him to get his own hustle and stay away from the free shit.

I charge 15-20 bucks, but I'm honest

I tell them:
-who made it
-what it does
-that it's free
-that it's easy
-that they could do it themselves, instead of paying me
-the risks
-the benefits
-and I do 10x more for them

the site is full of boldface lies: doesn't void your warranty, chips cost over 100$, and then it has bad innuendo too, like it almost says it plays gamecube backups, but not really...
it also is just wrong, like it says you can completely uninstall just by going in system memory, and then it talks about the GC-pad trick but only gives like 1/4 the info you'd need.

I don't like liars who are out to get money, those liars are the worst.

Hello guys, I've been lurking for a while here, and I decided to finally make a post after seeing this thread.
I have actually bought HomebreWare, and I'm satisfied
The support was very friendly and they helped me out with the issues I had, and the software did what was promised.
I was a little dissapointed later to find that similar methods can be found over the internet for free, however, a friend of mine found a free method for his wii which he tried and he voided his warranty with it and bricked his wii.
I didn't want that to happen to me and I purchased homebreware, and it did what it said it would to.

Overall, it's a decent product, nothing special, I liked the support. So what are my thoughts on this, If you really know your way around your wii and are experienced with it, you don't need this product, you could unlock it yourself i guess. but if you're a noob like me, you'd could actually find use of this product rather than risking with some free methods that might damage the wii(I'm not saying that the free methods are bad, I'm saying that it's hard for an average user to find the right method, and he might end up messing things up).

I understand your frustration guys, I don't know that much about the stuff you're talking about, but I think the product doesn't deserve the bashing you're giving, maybe it's because I know nothing about unlocking wii's, who knows. It might deserve a little criticism but not to the extent present in this thread.

Cheers!

Bullshit

that would be fine, except this is the free tools we're talking about, just assembled in a pack with incorrect information that you paid for, assuming you're not just the salesman.

it's not like someone made this software for that pack, the entire pack is stolen. yes, you can steal free software.

its basically the opposite of gbatemps ideals:
we want costy stuff for free
they're selling free stuff for cost, and lying about it.

Please crawl back into the asshole you came out from.
