I don't understand the hostility, I just voiced my opinion over this, what's wrong with that. I'm not defending this product, I'm neutral, how can you make such claims without even trying the software

Listen dipshit, slow down with the conspiracy theories, I told you what I thought of the product. I'm not affiliated to it in any way. If you want to believe me or not, it's up to.

Well... I bit just for fun and bought this.

Essentially this guy is selling a Homebrew Guide , more or less, and including the needed software (Except Zelda) "free". According to him, you are paying for the setup guide.

My thoughts: If you are a complete homebrew newbie, and have NO idea how to get started, this guide would work for you. It pretty much takes you by the hand and gets you all setup.

For most of us with some technical know-how, it's not really worth it. All the information in his homebrew manual can be found online for free IF you know where to look.

This is definatly a case of some people seeing "HomebreWare" as a value, and others seeing it as a scam.

Jim

What are you talking about?!?!?!?! If your looking at these forums you already know where to look...

Tell us how you could find this site, if you are an noob.

Here is What I have to say.

Oh cool! Now I can finally download OUTDATED FREE homebrew for my wii with an overpriced scam! SO AWESOME!!! And 40% of too! NO FREAKING WAY!

AND IT DOESN'T EVEN WORK WITH 3.4!!!!
Oh so cool!

And the best part is that...

Q:Can this brick my wii?

A: No it can’t, but in case something happens to your console, plug a GameCube controller and turn on your console. The moment it starts booting press up + down + left + right at the same time (all directions on the D-Pad) that should solve the problem. (HomebreWare cannot and will not brick your console this advice is just in case of highly unlikely scenario.)

Correction:

Can this application brick my console?
Yes it can, if something happens to your console, plug a GameCube controller and turn on your console. Then Open the GC Controller and take the piece of the Dpad that prevents all button being pressed at the same time. The moment it starts booting press up + down + left + right at the same time (all directions on the D-Pad) and that WON'T Fix it. You'll need more FREE stuff to do so. (Not included) (HomebreWare CAN brick your console, this advice is just in case of highly unlikely scenario.)

Also be aware that this method does not work.

Oh check this out:

You heard right! The guys behind the Wii hack have cracked it in only a few days! So head on over to HomebreWare and grab your copy to unlock your Wii and start playing emulators, DVD’s and backup games in less than 10 mins time!!

Correction:

You heard WRONG! The guys behind the Wii hack (Team Twiizers of wiibrew.org) cracked it in only a few MONTHS. SO I'M STEALING THEIR WORK TO MAKE MONEY. So head on oever to HomebrewSCAM and "Torrent" your copy to HACK your Wii and start playing Emulators THAT WERE ASLO STOLEN FROM OTHER PEOPLE, GAMES NOT INCLUDED, DVD SUPPORT THAT I STOLE, AND BEST OF ALL PLAY BACKUPS! STOLEN FROM WIIGATOR!!!

Wait you said BACKUP Games. You stole that too!

Features:
Play Backup Games. (Stolen)
Play Homebrew Applications.
Play N64, GameCube, SNES and Sega Genesis Games, as well as games from other consoles. (Stolen)
Access to over 2000 Free Games that you can play using the HomebreWare Bundle (BIG FAT LIE, STOLEN)
Play Region Locked Games, this means you can finally play Imported Games. (STOLEN FROM NUKE)
Play DVD Movies and Mp3 Songs. (Media players that are STOLEN)

Wow man! The GREATEST Product ever! I love it so much that I think I'll torrent it and share it with the world! Isn't that great!

Oh and THIS Bundle only work with firmware 3.2 FYI.

This is a HUGE SCAM. I can't wait for you to be sued!

-------------------------------
Yeah, brought it, ITS CRAP.

Includes: Instrucion booklet + CD.
32MB SD Card
No TP
Some weird disc "Insert in wii"
Oh and some outdated homebrew channel WITHOUT any media player. GeckoOS isn't on there, DVDX isn't on it, and for crying out loud, NO BACKUP LOADER!!!!

BTW My Comment was removed when I posted on that website.

I have no actual need for the software, so there is no harm in pm'ing it to me to look at, and I'll delete it afterwards, and if I see value in it, I'll be honest....but fyi, their site is still bold faced lies.

completely voided warranty and NOT compatible with all regions (ala Korea) are guarantees.

nvm, thanx zeek no need now.

Hello guys, I've been lurking for a while here, and I decided to finally make a post after seeing this thread.
I have actually bought HomebreWare, and I'm satisfied
The support was very friendly and they helped me out with the issues I had, and the software did what was promised.
I was a little dissapointed later to find that similar methods can be found over the internet for free, however, a friend of mine found a free method for his wii which he tried and he voided his warranty with it and bricked his wii.
I didn't want that to happen to me and I purchased homebreware, and it did what it said it would to.

Overall, it's a decent product, nothing special, I liked the support. So what are my thoughts on this, If you really know your way around your wii and are experienced with it, you don't need this product, you could unlock it yourself i guess. but if you're a noob(I dont think someone with proper grammar like you is a noob, in fact, i think you are the one who is selling this) like me, you'd could actually find use of this product rather than risking with some free methods that might damage the wii(I'm not saying that the free methods are bad, I'm saying that it's hard for an average user to find the right method, and he might end up messing things up).

I understand your frustration guys, I don't know that much about the stuff you're talking about, but I think the product doesn't deserve the bashing you're giving,(This post sounds like those BS testimonials which gives more evidence that you might be the person who created this product) maybe it's because I know nothing about unlocking wii's, who knows. It might deserve a little (A LOT) criticism but not to the extent present in this thread.

Cheers!

Anyone else find any BS in this post

Hey smashbortha, why don't you upload it and send post the link for us all. We just want to see how it looks and what lies/truths are being told. No I am not trying to get the so called homebreware free, and if you dont believe me just take one look at the wii section of the forums which has everything homebreware has and more.

I'm sorry...but I personally think turning him is not really the right thing to do either. How does 2 wrongs make a right, instead of a hell of a sharp left? I mean, I am really only speaking for myself in this... but how many pay for the internet to download pirated wii games? Who's guilty of what there? Because it is sort of legal?! Sometimes I just think everyone is out there to hustle... some are just bottom feeders... I don't put signs up because I charge people homebrew, softmod, starfall and whatever else helps.. their Wii's but I DO charge people.. for the wear and tear on my burners, and time invested in all the work and frustrations... not to mention..yanking the sd card back out and sliding homebrew to the farside and telling them not to do an sort of update without calling me first.... and theywill call me for anymore games they want... and I know plenty more people which will remain disclosed that do it on here as well... Do I have to go fish through these threads to see who else posted that they would charge for doing someone else's Wii? I know what I do is more personal than via the internet.... but shit... they are just hustling.... aren't we hustling Nintendo for our money's worth when we decided hacking their project?!

I don't know... there is yet... the fine line between piracy, infringement and the sort.

My personal opinion is...fuck it! They knew what they were getting themselves into when they produced their products.... how many times have you seen something bought and enhanced or modified? Electronically or Mechanically?

I could argue my side forever... pointless though...and really the wrong place... but on the other hand...
being that I am one bi-polar individual... I wrote the guy a nasty letter telling him to get his own hustle and stay away from the free shit.

I have to mostly agree with this post

I also charge to install homebrew on peoples' Wii consoles. I'm not as "commercial" with it as others but it's something on the side to help me buy extra groceries or to help pay a bill. Life is tough and the economy is even more tough. Yes I pirate but I'm not a complete villain. If you were able to see my "My Nintendo" account, you would know that I gave my heart, soul and thousands of dollars, two and a half years of college, two bus rides and a walk, every school day, rain, sleet, or snow all to Nintendo. I have so much registered, it's not even funny

. I now have a little 7 month old daughter. I don't have the money to spend on buying games these days and let's be honest, GameStop and Game Crazy are complete jokes (I should know, I worked management for both). Yes, I try to give back buy buying my DLC or getting some un-educated sap to buy a game I think is cool. I don't go around to everyone telling them I can soft mod their system for a price. I choose my clients VERY carefully. I still want the completely uninformed/casual gamers to help Nintendo. You will always find me talking up a storm about Ninty, hell I do just as good of a job as any Nintendo rep and my area rep, Sherri, knows it. The point is, everything is NOT "black or white". You rich mama's boys living in your parents house, able to afford your next game, stop hatin'! It's good that you don't have to struggle but don't look down on those of us who have to work hard just to be able to enjoy life even in the smallest of ways.

I agree, people are willing to pay for information and service that they can get for free. The people that you serviced could've just went here and unlock the wii's themselves without having to pay for it. I don't think you did anything wrong, nor I think that homebreware did anything wrong, so I think other than a little criticism, you nor homebreware deserves bashing. I think some of the comments were overly harsh.

I'm still waiting for the files to upload so that people can make a verdict, also, there was a person who bought this and posted his experience with it, the member posted his experience in this thread, so look on the posts in the previous pages, and you'll find what he thought. I think he said that it's good for noobs, but useless for experienced ones.

Yeah please don't lock this tread, I'm curious to see how it ends, and what does tis " pack " really include.
If it's something good I might buy it after all, and many others here would appreciate it too...[/end sarcasm]

This really does make me laugh, that someone would actually charge for this. I agree that for a real noob this is helpful, but there is such thing as google. For a noob to find homebreware they have to use google, and depending on what they search, for example.. "Wii Homebrew", its more likely that the free information will be displayed on a page listed way before homebreware. So the point is is that by the time people have googled and found homebreware they could have read the first couple of pages and used one of the tutorials. Its not like the free information isnt detailed, its step by step.
