Hacking Patched AGB_Firm Questions!

I have installed a patched AGB_Firm file to both my sysnand and emunand. If I attempt to update my emunand, will I have to reinstall it? From what I understand, not all titles are touched during an upgrade, so I assume I'm okay, But I just want to be sure!
