Hardware Part Replacement Issues

I have my New Nintendo 3ds XL. It's circle pad had its rubber grip ripped off before I got it and I wanted to replace it. I open up enough to reach the micro sd card slot. However I cant get past the 8 screws to reach the motherboard to get to the circle pad. The 8 screws wont budge at all, and I don't wish to strep the screws. Can anyone help me figure out how to unscrew them without having to go to a mechanic or send it to nintendo. (I have a replacement blue circle pad, and I dont wanna pay $80 along with shipping) Any help is appriciated.

Make sure the screwdriver you're using is the right size (iFixit will have correct screwdriver sizes listed)
If the size is even a bit off it makes unscrewing the screws way harder than it needs to be.

Can I ask for a specific screw size so I could maybe say buy it at a local store or something? Sorry, the screw i see on ifixit is only available for shipping.

Apart of using the correct screwdriver size (a must), when unscrewing those pesky bits, you must apply a single, strong and controlled counterclockwise motion, with some pressure toward the screw head. So they will get loose and you won't be needing to try more than once.

That's what always work for me.

There pesky cause they wont come out, my screw seems to fit it right, but im too scared to try something like that cause, one try can mean having a terrible strip, and since the screws are very well encased by the plastic if it is stripped I cant take a flathead and try that (Not saying its a smart idea anyway).

I tried but it doesnt seem to be loosening up.

Trust yourself and unscrew them... Don't know how to say it without sound rude but if you're not able to do a simple task like unscrew a screw... maybe you should pay to have it fixed for you.

Its not that Im not trying, I am, the screw isnt gripping the driver and its scaring me that im gonna strip the screw, and these are glasses screwdrivers. I know its a simple task, besides I got to the sd card slot multiple times.

I'd borrow or purchase a better screwdriver, one from a glasses repair kit seems like you won't be able to get a good enough grip and apply enough force with to get it twisted. If all else fails, a pair of needle nose pliers to grab the screw head to twist carefully and not scratch the chip may work.

I know how you feel the "new" 3ds (really dumb name by the way) is a very annoying console to fix my best bet is to use some better screwdrivers and just go for it but be careful of the ribbon cables I was able to fix both of my 3ds's easily.

Well the part came in the mail, I'm looking for screw drivers Phillip #00 (IfixIt said so) So I'm gonna go look for something. Im probably gonna go ahead and sell it after i fix it, its a little scratched though, the old owner lets just say had a lot of fun with it. It was the exclusive zelda one too, what a shame.

@Awesomekid956000, replacement n3DSXL Majora's Mask edition shell can be bought here or here, but if it was the Hyrule Edition, yah that sucks you can't rehaul that one.
