My parents are just as paranoid as your parents. As far as I know, they've never bought anything online.

lol. my parents used to be super paranoid, but they're a bit better now.

Personally I got a debit card and paypal account as soon as I could. Much easier and safer.
Although it sucks when places don't accept paypal.

My dad likes purchasing online

He has bought Pokemon SS, a laptop fan, Steam games just for me.

You stole your father's credit card?
Do you know why he's afraid of big companies such as Sony? because if they screw him, even if he gets a lawyer there's a big fat chance he'd lose, because lawyers that belong to such companies are much more tricky\smarter\more experienced

ifish, you should learn that NO is a NO, no matter how badly you want it, also, since you live at an expansive place your local post office must offer a prepaid credit card service, just charge enough money and buy one prepaid card and buy all your games, instead of STEALING your dad's money\credit card, even if you pay him back, that's under HIS payment, wanna know something? I did a favor to a guy who had similar problem such as yours, one time only, I had to go to the army, was absent for 2 weeks, guess what? I found $40 worth of money on my desk with a thanks message and a letter from my credit card company saying they cancelled my credit card and banished any credit card service for me for 3-years time by any company except prepaid credit card services, because I "didn't pay in time" for a $40 of games + $20 of shipping ($60 total), those stuff stock up on your dad's bill, and that's his e-money, ending up on his list, if he has a lot to pay, actual money won't save him, he can get his ass handed to him similar to my situation, learn to fucking deal with the world and your family (and trust me, your family is really good, look at cases auch as Aeladya and you know what I am talking about) and accept the way they deal with anything, that's their rules, who the fuck are you to change it?

Probably the first post of yours I fully agree with.

Though, i'm honestly not sure about prepaid credit cards in Canada. I've tried finding them before but i've NEVER seen one.
But I mean, for PSN and shit you can buy those specific prepaid cards for certain values. Not sure, but I think the cheapest PSN one is $20.

Tomorrow i al going to the bank and getting a debit card. making a new bank account.
Then putting all money from now on into there.

Problem solved

Indeed.
Except debit cards (at least Canadian ones that I know of) can't buy things online usually. Even most online stores require you at least attach a credit card to your paypal for it to work.
Hell, Steam REFUSES adamantly to sell me things unless I pay through paypal with a credit card. (despite me having my debit card set up with a credit card backing -_-;;).

Though, you can make a paypal, add your debit card, and transfer funds to paypal (takes like 10 days). Lets you buy stuff on Steam anyways.

Thats pretty much just Canada (afaik.) When I lived in the states, my debit card was branded VISA so I could use it anywhere VISA was accepted, Canadian debit cards are only accepted at places that take Interac, ie, nowhere online.

Yeah I think it's about time Canada changed that >.> Pain in the ass.
Though I do know ONE canadian site that accepts interac. It's the first and only site i've ever seen to do it.

Does PSN take interact? if not i will be pissed.

Can i transfer money from interact to paypal?

1: PSN accepts credit cards only (doesn't use paypal).
2: Yes you can tie your debit card (bank account) to your paypal, and transfer funds between them. But transfering money from your bank to paypal takes like 7-10 business days.
3: If you want to buy stuff on PSN, go down to 7-11 and buy a pre-paid card. They all have them.
But it's like $20 for the cheapest one.

A debit card functions as a credit card on the internet except for the obvious reason so it doesn't have to be credit.

Transferring funds takes 10 days .___.

Oh well. I'm sure PSN would accept it

10 days? when i deposit money into my bank account it dosn't take that long 0_0 unless it's a cheque and even then it takes only 4-5 days to clear, what is up with your bank?

also if you or your father is paranoid about using the PSN store with a credit card you can buy a PSN card from your local gamestop or gaming store in $20 or $50 i am not sure if they do $10 PSN cards, no credit card needed!

We're talking about paypal there.
It takes 7-10 days to transfer funds from a bank account to a paypal account (in Canada, it's like 3-5 for the US).
