Paper Mario TTYD 60fps patch?

Nintendo themselves couldn't get the game to run at a smooth 60fps for a remake? That's disappointing I honestly expected better and especially since this is one of GCN's best titles.

Please don't disappoint us with the next Switch, Nintendo. :(

Yeah it's extremely noticeable, but since the 60fps patch is not fully stable rn I guess I'll just wait until things are ironed out to play this remake. It's really hard to play this in 30fps knowing I can get a full 60 playing on Dolphin and it just feels so much better. Anyone who says they can't notice the difference has to either have terrible perception or is just lying. Even just on the menu I can tell the difference, it feels clunky in comparison to the 60fps.

at least this is an actual
"the hardware literally cannot lock 60 even on overclocked V1 hardware"
instead of a
"ninty didn't wanna use high clocks for battery life and so you're forced to endure worse performance than you'd have otherwise without removing the game's arbitrary fps lock"

just tested on mine, practice battle was really nice at 60 but the overworld chugs
might be able to handle some fights, but I'm curious if the fuzzy horde fight would get slowdown
otherwise 60fps only in battle could work maybe

Definitely some issues with the current patch, jump speed is affected even in the overworld.

This is untrue of the 7900 XTX. I have not noticed any graphical anomalies in the areas mentioned using Yuzu
Hm that's weird, I have the same card and the sewers are completely black for me on latest version of Yuzu. What Yuzu version are you using?

Does anyone have a mod to remove the aggresive sharpening? The game looks like absolute shit with it, same as TOK did, Nintendo really butchered this one
Yeah it does look really weird, it didn't look like that in any of the gameplay I saw from switch hardware so I'm assuming it's something to do with the way the emulator handles the effects. Or are you playing on switch? I'm playing on emu and it definitely looks weirdly overly sharp.

Edit: Found a mod that makes the game look 100x better, doesn't look weirdly washed out anymore https://gamebanana.com/mods/515219

Yeah sorry, I went back and realized I was accidentally running on my 1060. I have two cards in my computer and didn't know it defaulted to the NVIDIA card. The 7900 has the same issue :/

60 FPS working perfectly on OC switch Mariko (though it's not powerful enough for the docked resolution).

Would you mind detailing your overclock values and the steps you took to get this patch running? My Mariko is getting lots of slowdown in the overworld, and it looks to be the case for others as well.

I confirm this.

Anyway. Someone shared this in .pchtxt. I convert it to .ips and I'm testing it.

From what I've been reading, it also has problems (talking about emus).
Thanks for the mod
it's working fine on yuzu
conositant 60 fps 1hour gameplay
btw
did you check it the mod make softlock at any point o.O

I haven't play enough due to my work. I'll be playing more on Friday.

Did the intro cutscene look stuttery to you?

Using 4k Resolution with the mod linked above, seems to have gotten rid of the annoying sharpening filter.
Everything looks smooth and detailed now.

Only problem is that it messes with the lighting when you enter a shop (and perhaps other areas).

On Ryujinx the save blocks are black, same for coins when enemy drop them, their is a fix for that ? or need to wait emulator updates ?

I came across this that is supposed to fix the black screen. I haven't got there yet as i started over in Ryujinx. It doesn't run as well for me as Yuzu did but if it lets me get past the black part it's good enough.

https://github.com/Ryujinx/Ryujinx/pull/6852

Edit: I have got to the sewers and can confirm it does work. I think i will swap saves between Ryujinx and Suyu because Ryujinx runs slower on Steam Deck.

Happens with the 1440p mod as well, though it doesn't appear quite as often. The shop for instance seems to lack this issue at 1440p, but I started to notice it in cutscenes with taller character sprites (like the Pianta mobsters and Grubba, someone also mentioned Hooktail too) when the camera zooms close in on them. So yeah you'll see it elsewhere too.

My guess is that there's a lighting effect that isn't scaling or aligning correctly. It affects both Yuzu and Ryujinx.

Hi, anybody knows how to make a 45fps patch from the 60fps patch please?
I play through Yuzu/Suyu on my Odin 2 pro and 60 fps is a little bit too much for it at the moment. When I lower the resolution to 540p it runs well (with lot of heat).
Maybe a 45fps/40fps patch could be a great idea.
Thanks

1785/921/2400 is enough for consistent 60FPS on Mariko.
I'd assume 1785/921/1996 is probably good for slightly less consistent 60FPS on Erista.
Both with handheld visuals of course.

If someone (probably masagrator lol) makes a triple buffer patch FPS drops will be less severe and you could get away with slightly lower clocks.
