Also, I'm pretty sure the card has to support MagicGate in order to install Custom Firmware, so if you have a fake MS Pro Duo, it isn't going to work.

this is fact, i know from 1st hand experience, here's how to test,
insert the card and power psp
go to games then go to memory stick and press triangle then select information
if it says magicgate supported then all is ok
but if it says magicgate unknown then its a fake and will not load the downgrader

Or try making the memory card "manually" (it's hardly manual, it's a case of typing a few words) and stop relying on lame programs that cause nothing but problems (I mean, one that doesn't even work with a pandora battery? lol!).

most likely its not a MAGIC GATE supported card is it a genuine mem card or a cheapo one?

see if you can loan another off someone ... some sony ericsson phones come with pro duo mem cards you will need something like a minimum of a 512mb mem card to make it with ....

ask someone to loan you a card then make sure you back it up first so you dont loose their phone stuff
