I had a little bit of trouble a while back with a burned copy of pikmen 2. it was pal and my wii is ntsc, so I couldn't get any video. I was wondering, does this happen with wii games as well? if it does, is there any way around it?

Most games work cross region - especially if you have component cables.
If you have problems, load the game with Gecko OS. I haven't found an NTSC title that won't run on my PAL wii using gecko OS (and only 3 that won't just work through system menu)
Some games (ie, SSBB) will run in a strange video mode.. ie 480i, but not 480p unless I use gecko... but this isn't the end of the world.
