Misc ow does WIFI work with ds?

Does everyone one have those ds wifi dongles? i have a wireless router so is that the only way ?

or do people connect with pc which has both wifi and wireless ! is there extra equipment needed for ds for that?

Wireless router (or access point) works just as well - if not better than the dongle route - the only things to bear in mind are:

1. The DS/DSLite are only 802.11b / 11M capable - so you may need to allow your router/access point to accept the connection.

2. The DS/DSLite are only capable of WEP encryption - so if you're running WPA you'll need to downgrade to WEP (which is like unlocking your front door in security terms)

unlocking your front door is removing it altogether.

downgrading to WEP from WPA is like removing 5 of the ten padlocks and the fingerprint scanner from your door.

sure, you might be making it easier for wardrivers to access your network, but you'd still be keeping out the script kiddies and casual wireless porn-downloading neighbors from accessing your network.

Just keep a watch out for any shady cars outside your house with a pale driver with a laptop on his steering wheel and you'll be fine
