I need help with retrieving the save file from a bootleg copy of Pokemon Sapphire. I have a DS lite and r4 card, and I have already tried GodMode9i, GBA_Backup_Tool and GBA Dump. They have all had the same problem; only dumping the first 32 megabytes, when the save files is stored in the last 32M (64MB total?). Furthermore, something I tried corruped the bytes of the ROM up to 00080000 in the hex editor, so help would also be useful on adding these bytes back in by either dumping from another of the same bootlegs (if the code is modified to save to the ROM), or a ROM dumped off a real cart. I have also tried modifying the INI from GBA_Backup_Tool to dump 64MB but it won't listen to me and will only dump up to 32M (afaik)

The bootlegs use a 16MB NOR Flash so the advice to overdump to 32MB was in the case that they used a larger module, in some cases the controller they use reports a 32MB module.
Not aware of any of these Pokemon bootleg carts using a 64MB module considering the ROM itself is 16MB. The true size of the ROM when trimmed is about 14MB, so they use that free space at the end to fit the save inside that 16MB.

You need to specifically use GBABF to make the dump as its the only tool that can do it correctly: https://gbatemp.net/download/gbabf.37005/

You just need to make a 16MB dump and use this tool to extract the save out of the dump: https://projectpokemon.org/home/files/file/4104-bootleg-pokémon-gba-save-extractor-and-injector/
