Gaming Overclocking motherboard?

Hi guys! How do i know if my motherboard supports overclocking wothout opening it up? I dont really want to overclock but incase i do, i just want to know if my motherboard supports it. thanks in advance!

if you bought it from a company like hp, compaq, ect... then no you cant overclock it
the mobo is locked

its really hard to do unless its an easy cracking one. If you bought a no-name brand from newegg maybe but intel and nvidia boards are very hard to get past. it requires some sodering lol

Can you flash a hacked BIOS to unlock overclocking capabilities do they exist?

I don't know but that sounds extremely dangerous. Soldering the motherboard would look easier compared to that

I have seen a few hacked BIOS versions (or even officially unlocked- after the warranty ended naturally) for some of the low volume system builders like emachines over the years.
Trouble is Dell are big enough to have their own motherboards built and they frequently do so should you manage to find the model it was initially based on, get the original BIOS in a workable shape and likely dodge signing if it is a dell you are still likely to be looking a low spec piece of junk for a motherboard (there is a good reason Dell have a bad name in system building/performance computing circles).
