Gaming open a port

alright i have tried this several times with no success i am using ubuntu 8.10 i have Time warner cable broadband and a wireless router Trendnet-432brp now every time i try to open a port and check it with canyouseeme.org i have disabled firestarter to see if that would help but it didn't can anyne help me.
the port i am trying to open is 3333 for pimpstreamer for my psp

Have you tried Portforward ? Just go to the routers section and then choose your router, it will guide you through the rest.

yes but that did not work it still says the port is closed

Did you even start the service on your pc so there would be a reply at the portß

viola thank you it seems it just may not be working on my psp now i understand where i went wrong
