Homebrew OOTHAX/Ironhax on 9.2 N3DS

Hey,

Can I use OOTHax or ironhax on N3DS 9.2 to load a CFW?

A friend only has zelda OOT & ironhax and wants to use CFW on his exploitable N3DS.

I guess these are just entry points so I should be able to get kernel access on 9.2 with one of these games

No, because the Haxes themselves... It's true that FW9.2 is kernel explotaible, but those hax are only userland mode exploits!... On the other hand, IronHax only runs from FW9.5 SysNAND and above... Only viable option ATM is NinjHax 1.x! (Honestly, IDK if other methods are available, search by yourself, but NinjHax 1.x if you refer only to Smealum haxes)

Nope, he can use OoT if he gets a Gateway though.
If you have Cubic Ninja or a Sky3DS you can use it to downgrade mset for him, then he won't need a game to launch CFW.

You can't use OOT because nobody has ported the payload used in ninjhax 1, but sure it's possible to create, On the other hand Ironhax can't be used on 9.2 since it's minium version to run is 9.5.
As somebody alredy pointed your best option is to get/borrow a CN (it has to be the same region of your console)/sky3ds/gateway to downgrade mset and be able to boot from there.

Btw, just realised that if your friend has ironfall he's not in 9.2....

I'm on firmware 9.0 on N3DS. I used Gateway and FreeMultiPatcher to create a new NNID, download YouTube and use TubeHax so i won't need to launch Reinand everytime. It works perfectly for me, so it should work for you to use TubeHax on 9.2 n3ds, but i don't know about ironhax since oothax didn't work for me.

He doesn't need Gateway. He only need CN or OOT. Gateway Launcher can be used by everyone, but only those with the flashcard can boot into Gateway Mode.

Yes, I know that. For this reason, I said he doesn't have (need) GW and only wants CFW. Without GW, only can load GW Launcher (via OoT) and create a (clean) EmuNAND, but not CFW, indeed.

Oh, it's absolutely true! OP: How do you have installed "IronFall" game on your (or your friend) FW 9.2 console?

Yes that's true. It is possible, but i'm pretty sure he didn't create CFW before to install FreeMultiPatcher to get Ironfall on sysNAND before.
