No, both hands on the mote and chuck and the occasional scratch on the tablet, because I sincerely think that those "hardcore games" we're supposed to get will not require the touchscreen for anything more then simple puzzles, menus 'n shizzle-me-whizzles that were unavailable on other consoles.

Or, you can use your ****. I guess.

I hope the screen protectors for it will be fluid-resistant. Persistent rubbing may cause "accidents" in this scenario.

I think the Wii U Controller is actually light, because I remember I've seen a video showing the Wii U controller feature and the guy actually held it with 1 hand for a while.

About the new features, "not like the Kinect sensor or similar accessories" and "Wii U will be a console with so many and unique possibilities that it will be different to show them in the box they are going to sell ...or by magazines or other mediums"

To me this reminds me of something that was said to me in Japan when I saw the WiiU. The nintendo rep said when I asked if the camera was any good "video chat is a joy on WiiU and makes skype a thing of the past" and I should "imagine chatting on my TV and sifting through my files on wiiU and sending them the file in real time"
At the time I didnt really think that this was anything amazing or new, still don't, but it is a possibility that this is what Ono is referring to.

Also I was taken to a corner of the room packed with onlookers to be shown a NINTENDO display. The display was in FULL 3D. Not 3D like the 3DS. but 3D as in it was a full colour moving HOLOGRAM of SUPER MARIO BROS. Blocks rolled into view, mario punched them and jumped on a yoshi and then runs around.... and repeat. This display ewas unlike anything I have seen before and I could walk around it and see it from any angle I liked. It was soooooo impressive. It was displayed in a pyramid of glass.

These, I think are true possibilities for wiiU although at the time I thought I was being shown next next next gen tech.

is Nintendo seriously actively pursuing Holographic cube displays? because that's fucking awesome, and it's a big fat "i told you so". i remember speculating on Nintendo's next new innovation as something involving holo graphics. if this holo display is a prototype of what they're gonna do next, then i was right all along. and on that note, maybe Shiggy and me are thinking on the same wavelengths... hmm...

u know when they say unique, even now its the most unique from all consoles. maybe it will just add features that are more of the same (category). but then again, this is nintendo

it's just a display prototype, if anything. the WiiU doesn't need any fancy addons to support holo display, just like it doesn't need any fancy addons to support projectors, TV monitors or 3D displays. it just needs to be able to hook up to the WiiU and it's up to the display to interpret the video data and display it (in 2D, 3D, or holo). but you have seen the display, and that it works, so that's the only important thing.

I'm pretty sure it will still support all the control options that the Wii supported.
Thus, if you don't like the controller with the screen on it you'll probably just be able to use a classic or gamecube controller or the wiimote.


Nintendo is not that ... limited. They learned that making your console backwards-compatible with older controllers is smart.
They know that some people will not like the new controller, and they know that some other people where really enthusiastic about it. So they won't take it out completely, but they will give you the option to just not use it.
