Ok,
So, two DS's in the house, White and Red. Red uses an Edge card, White uses an R4 card.
So, Red has a problem, and a strange one at that. When powered on, sometimes the nintendo health and safety message comes on, then when a button is pressed or the screen is touched, the unit powers itself off. Sometimes, the edge menu loads perfectly, but, when a game is selected, the unit powers itself off. Ok, so the edge card is kaput right, only, it works perfectly in the white ds. Also, the R4 card from white gets stuck on "loading" when in Red, but works perfectly in white.
So, mayhap the contacts, contacts cleaned, problem persists. Also, single game carts (cooking mama2, brain training) load and play perfectly..
..but then, brand new never used before R4 card (bought as spare) panasonic formatted and freshly loaded (no roms) gets stuck on "loading" ...and, (you guessed it) works perfectly on White.
Lastly, have tried swapping around the microSd cards, with basically the same results.
As this started after i'd had the wifi on, and if i were the paranoid type, it almost seems as tho the big N has inserted some "don't boot flashcart" code somewhere on Red.
To summarise, everything works on white, nothing on Red except original games, which work perfectly.
