Hacking On 3.4u, safest way to get netflix?

I have a lu63, 3.4u with hbc installed, just running neogamma for games. Never really gone online ever.

Now someone at home got a netflix acct and wants me to 'enable' the wii to stream from them.

Pls advise whats the easiest, safest way to do that?

Also, how do i disable nintendo updates if i go online?

Go on a computer and order the disc is the easiest. If you have updates disabled for discs, then it's the safest too.

Otherwise, you can use dop-mii to download ios 56 and the new shop channel, then download the netflix channel from the shop.

If you go online, it will not update automatically. You can use Priiloader to disable both disc and online updates. You will obviously need to be online for netflix streaming.

is priiloader what people are installing these days instead of preloader?

...would upgrading to 4.0+ give me the newer shop channel?...or is that separate? I'm just trying to find the easiest, most sensible way to do this

To get the newest shop channel by outright update that would have to be 4.3 but I STRONGLY recommend against doing that until you know what you are doing (not a serious risk for most but why bother?) Just update your shop channel by itself (and the ios it uses ...56), and yes, priiloader is basically an updated preloader.

it'll ask me to do a sys update right?...and i just say NO?

Download NUSD from wiibrew

Run it from your computer.

download Shop Channel v20. Make sure the Pack to Wad Box is checked.

Next download IOS 56 v5662. Pack to Wad should still be checked so just leave it as is.

Now install the wads with Wad Manager. Install IOS56 then Shop Channel v20.

You can now access the shop channel without it asking you for an update.

Download the Free Netflix Channel from Ninty

Unless you want/need SDHC support/SD channels launching. If yes, update to 4.0/4.1/4.2 (it is easier to update to 4.2 following xxzero guide)

i tried to install bootmii on my lu63 wii, no go on boot2

priiloader is the next best thing right?...for protection and such...for my 3.4u, no prerequisite to install priiloader right?...just dl and use hbc to install...v0.4 i think is newest

i finally bit the bullet and dl modmii and updated my system to 4.1U...
then loaded priiloader .4 and enabled all the update stuff....went online and just dl the Netflix channel

works fine now...thanks again!
